Hi all,

I have recently imported books from a spreadsheet csv file that included info like title, author, etc. The spreadsheet also included an ISBN column. I think some of the ISBNs may not have been correctly entered into the spreadsheet. So, during import, when LT searched for the books using the ISBN column, it found most of the books, but of course some ISBNs were not found.

Right now, I'm trying out my CueCat to "update" missing ISBNs. I'd like to make sure that the LT record is the actual edition and book that I physically own. So far, when I CueCat scan my physical book and its ISBN, it brings up another edition. That all makes sense. However...

Essentially, I'm trying to see if there's a way to merge two records; the old record with the incorrect ISBN but all the custom tags AND the new record with the correct ISBN, book edition, etc. that is popping up when scanning the physical book with CueCat.

Is this possible? Or, would I have to start over and CueCat scan my library, and add the custom tags to each title in LT?

Thanks so much for any help or advice!

Copy and paste using two tabs (on two different screens) is about the only way to merge records. Each book is considered unique in your library. They can be combined into one work, but not one book. You'll have two in your listing.

Other option is to erase the bad records, reduce your file down to just the screwed up books, take out the ISBN, then upload again.

Thanks for the reply! I'll try out these options.
