>2 connie53: >3 Jackie_K: >4 rabbitprincess: >5 MissWatson: Thanks for the greetings, folks, and I'm hoping to do a little better this year. This past year was hectic with radiation treatment over the summer for my prostate cancer along with quite frequent hospitalizations for COPD exacerbations and for CHF, where I've got a cardiac functioning of about 30%. My cardiologist has an ablation scheduled in a few days and he's hoping that (in addition to a permanent solution to my a-fib, where a cardioversion didn't do any good) the ablation may bring my overall cardiac functioning up to 35% or so.

I've got a huge collection of new books to read from late in last year, primarily of historic and current-events subjects as well as Hinduism, inspired by my support for Tulsi Gabbard in the current U.S. Presidential sweepstakes. (One of my hospitalizations occurred in a Tulsi-related trip I tried to take back in October from Philadelphia out to Ohio, an unsuccessful excursion that turned into an emergency cardiac hospitalization and a ten-hour round-trip rescue operation by some church friends. Not very funny at the time, but we're starting to get a little chuckle out of it today as folks tell me, "we told you so." I'll have to post about it when I've got a little more time.)

I've also stumbled across The Great Courses (and The Great Courses Plus) websites and some of these video series look really great. I already finished the six-hour course on Hinduism late last year and I'm currently about halfway through the eighteen-hour History of India. Both of these are really excellent and I'm looking forward to quite a smorgasbord on the other offerings.

I don't know whether I'll include these or not, considering they're electronic, not paper, but I'll give it some thought as I progress. They really do tie in nicely, some of them, with my more recent reading interests, so maybe I will.
