Started A Very English Scandal by John Preston narrated by Matthew Brenher. The book starts with Jerome Thorp (very well known in the 70's in real life). More to come...

>1 Dave_v2: if you're looking for romance then skip this book. There ain't much if any. There is some rough sex. It's about people using people, people abusing relationships, and people taking advantage.
I highly recommend it to those that have an interest in politics and want to know what methods and techniques to avoid.
The characters are not likeable. The book shows a side of Jerome Thorpe (leader of the Liberal Party in Great Britain in the early 70's) that the public didn't see for a very long time.
