Okay! Hi. Everyone who's looked at these books before must have an inkling of how difficult sorting out Twelve Kingdoms will be. I'm not yet confident the works are clean enough to start with. This thread will be something of a sandbox to play with the organization. To start with: how do these breakouts look?

What is this work?

ETA: This work is 1/4 of The Birds of Hisho. I don't know what to do with it.

EATA: It's in a "Short Stories" group for now.

One story from The Birds of Hisho: since the story is entered as a separate work, wouldn't it be best to relate it to Birds as "contained in", and list as a Short Story outside the Core for Twelve Kingdoms? (As it appears now.) My completist side wants the other stories from Birds to be similarly treated.

For Demon's Child, one review (offsite) characterised it as a prequel, perhaps outside the Core: "Written before Twelve Kingdoms, elements of Masho no Ko were later worked into the arc plot of that series, but this is a horror novel, and the tone of events is completely different." Is that your basic question, whether it's Core?

The publication dates aren't matching up with my release notes. That could mean the works are in the wrong places, haven't been combined correctly, or the works' CK need attention.
