Violinist Ida Haendel died July 1 at the age of 96. She wrote Woman With Violin: An Autobiography.

Cricketer Sir Everton Weekes died July 1 at the age of 95. He wrote Mastering the Craft: Ten Years of Weekes.

Former president of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and advocate for football player health Gay Culverhouse died July 1 at the age of 73. She wrote Throwaway Players.

Former television host Hugh Downs died July 1 at the age of 99. His books include Fifty to Forever and My America: What My Country Means to Me.

Composer Ennio Morricone died on July 6 at the age of 91 due to injuries from a fall. He wrote Composing for the Cinema.

Country musician Charlie Daniels died July 6 at the age of 83. He wrote Never Look at the Empty Seats: A Memoir.

Journalist Barrie Penrose died July 5th 2020. He was responsible, together with Roger Courtiour, for the 1978 book The Pencourt File. It was based on allegations by recently retired Harold Wilson of conspiracy in high places.

Actress Naya Rivera died in a boating accident on July 8 at the age of 33. Her memoir was called Sorry not Sorry.

Union leader Herman Benson died July 2 at the age of 104. He wrote Democratic Rights for Union Members and Rebels, Reformers, and Racketeers.

Massachusetts politician Barbara Ackermann died July 4 at the age of 95. She wrote “You the Mayor?”: The Education of a City Politician.

Soccer star Jack Charlton died July 10 at the age of 85. He wrote Jack Charlton: The Autobiography and World Cup Diary.

#7--one of the things that Charlton was known for was coaching Ireland in World Cup play--taking a country that wasn't supposed to be good enough fairly deep. Spider Stacey the tin whistle player of the anglo-Irish Celtic punk band the Pogues wrote a song for him 'Jack's Heroes'.

Political activist and diplomat Zindzi Mandela, daughter of Nelson, died July 13 at the age of 59. Her books include Grandad Mandela and Black as I Am.

Author Brad Watson died July 8 at the age of 64. His books include Miss Jane and The Heaven of Mercury.

Singer with the Fairport Convention Judy Dyble died July 12 at the age of 71. Her autobiography was called An Accidental Musician.

AIDS researcher Flossie Wong-Staal died July 8 at the age of 73. She wrote AIDS Vaccine Research.

Gothic writer and small press publisher Gary William Crawford died July 9 at the age of 67. Among his publications are Robert Aickman: An Introduction and Ramsey Campbell: Critical Essays.

Television host Grant Imahara died July 13 at the age of 49. He wrote Kickin’ Bot: An Illustrated Guide to Building Combat Robots.

Austrailian novelist and short story writer Elizabeth Harrower died on 7 July at 92. Her 5 novels include The Watch Tower and In Certain Circles.

Children’s author Joanna Cole died July 12 at the age of 75. She wrote more than 250 books including The Magic School bus series.

Journalist Michael Brooks died suddenly July 20 at age 36. He was the author of Against the Web: A cosmopolitan answer to the New Right and also co-host with Sam Seder of the Youtube political show The Majority Report and his own Michael Brooks show. He also wrote for the Jacobin, Huff Post and Al Jazeera.

#25--I've read numerous of Juan Marse's books. In fact had just finished The Calligraphy of Dreams two days ago. He was an excellent writer and extremely well regarded in the Spanish speaking world.
