Here's where posts that confirm REAL election crimes can be made and you comments regarding them.

Of course, posts should be restricted to citations from credible and reliable sources and posts that either are unsourced, or sourced from political propaganda organs, unsourced Twitter tweets, and baseless accusations, etc. -- like Trump's crap claim in Tuesday night's debate about "they dumped lots of ballots in the river" -- should not.

TEST for CREDIBILITY

Who's 'they'?
How many is 'lots'?
And where is this 'river'?

Questions that would have been answered in a legitimate report, such as those by the press asked of Kayleigh McEnany, illustrate the difference between unsubstantiated (Trump's claim lie) and substantiated. McEnany had no substantiating answer.

"Law & Order" Republicans At It Again

Notorious GOP operatives charged with felonies for trying to trick people out of mail-in voting in Michigan. AG Nessel Files Felony Charges Against Jack Burkman, Jacob Wohl in Voter-Suppression Robocalls Investigation LANSING – Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel has filed charges today against two political operatives for allegedly orchestrating a series of robocalls aimed at suppressing the vote in the November general election.

Jack Burkman, 54, and Jacob Wohl, 22, are each charged with:

One count of election law – intimidating voters, a five-year felony;
One count of conspiracy to commit an election law violation, a five-year felony;
One count of using a computer to commit the crime of election law – intimidating voters, a seven-year felony; and
Using a computer to commit the crime of conspiracy, a seven-year felony.
(SNIP)
Burkman, an Arlington, Virginia resident, and Wohl, a Los Angeles, California resident, allegedly attempted to discourage voters from participating in the general election by creating and funding a robocall targeted at certain urban areas, including Detroit. The calls were made in late August and went out to nearly 12,000 residents with phone numbers from the 313 area code.
(SNIP)
The recorded robocall message warns people about being “finessed into giving your private information to the man” and urges them to “beware of vote by mail.”

The caller, who claims to be associated with an organization founded by Burkman and Wohl, falsely tells people that mail-in voting, in particular, will allow personal information to become part of a special database used by police to track down old warrants and by credit card companies to collect outstanding debts. The caller also deceptively claims the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will use the information to track people for mandatory vaccines. However, none of that is true.

CA GOP Operatives Install Bogus Ballot Boxes Prompts State's AG, Xavier Becerra, to Send Cease and Desist Letter to State GOP
Republican party operations in Fresno, Los Angeles, and Orange County were busted for bamboozling voters with phony ballot drop boxes, which is totally a felony.
. . .collection boxes have been spotted at local political party offices, candidate headquarters. . .State GOP spokesman Hector Barajas said Monday the party owns the boxes. He declined to say how many exist or where they are located.

Unofficial ballot boxes discovered at Calif. gun shops, churches, Republican offices.
Secretary of State Alex Padilla said in a statement the boxes are not only misleading to voters but illegal. . .a list of "secure" ballot boxes posted by the Fresno County Republic Party are all unofficial, including ones listed at its own headquarters.

If you don't respect legitimate election-outcomes, you have no place--except that of a rank hypocrite-- to moan about voter fraud: You're the people whose "Get Out the Vote" program consists of advocating and defending the importation of illegal aliens to the United States: the better to enable these illegals to vote in favor of amnesties for scoff-laws and the relax rules of entry and residence.

Trump Supporter Arrested For Requesting Absentee Ballot For Dead Mother

The president accuses Democrats of “voter fraud,” but one of his supporters became the first person in a Pennsylvania county charged with the crime in 30 years.
A Luzerne County man is facing voter fraud charges Wednesday night. Investigators say he signed the name of his deceased mother to an absentee ballot application.

Luzerne County election officials say they notified the District Attorney’s office. Election officials say this is an example of how the system worked, how alleged fraud was spotted, and stopped.
(SNIP)
67-year-old Robert Richard Lynn from Forty Fort (was arrested) on voter fraud and forgery charges. According to Luzerne County detectives, Lynn admitted to signing the name of his mother to an application for an absentee ballot. The problem is she died in May of 2015.

“It hurts everybody. You know, if you can’t be a straightforward election, then it just hurt everybody. Nobody wins if everyone can’t be honest,” said one person familiar with Lynn.

Georgia Republican Felon Commits Fraudulent "Head Fake" in Order to Run for Office

Declares late as a Republican after. . .
Rivers previously registered with the Democratic Party three days before the election qualifying deadline, included a signed personal check for $750 made out to the Chatham County Democratic Party — from The Committee to Elect (Larry) "Gator" Rivers. The word “registration” appeared in the check’s memo line.
Republicans had waited and waited to file their complaint against Democrat Tony Riley (who would have been "Gator's opponent) for being unqualified. Riley was disqualified just before Rivers "flipped," on Oct. 27th. Democratic Party Chairman challenged "Gator's" qualifications in a letter.
". . Mr. Rivers has a history with multiple felonies inside and outside the state of Georgia. He has also been banned from places throughout the United States. Has the Chatham County Board of Elections researched this matter?”
Hell, no! It's a Republican county!

No information on what basis Democrat Riley was disqualified was provided in this story.

Historical roots of 'voter fraud'. Another dog whistle?

Prof. Garrett Epps (Law U Baltimore) @Profepps | 5:11 PM · Nov 4, 2020:
https://twitter.com/Profepps/status/1324111937202913280
https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1324111937202913280.html

For people who wonder why there's so much right-wing energy around "vote fraud," (a virtually nonexistent phenomenon) should glean a lesson from Southern history. During the rise of Jim Crow, it was necessary to disfranchise Black voters in the South./1

In order to do this, they came up with the argument that Black voters were poor and ignorant and were either bribed or duped to vote as a bloc against their "true friends."/2

This came to be called "fraudulent" voting--the idea being that no genuine choice was being made. At one point in the South during Civil Rights, a county judge convened a grand jury to haul Black people in and demand to know why they all voted for the same candidate./3

If that has a familiar ring, remember that as a US Attorney Jeff Sessions had elderly black voters arrested and brought before a grand jury to explain why their registrations *weren't* "fraudulent."/4

I knew Jesse Helms and he was not self-conscious about assuming that votes in Durham County (high Black population) were "fraudulent."/5

So the attempt to shut down counting in Detroit isn't really useful for Trump to _win_ (he's already ahead) but to create a legend that votes in Detroit (hmm, what's special about Detroit?) were "stolen" and that's why he lost./6

As Faulkner said, the past isn't dead, it's not even past./7

The "historical roots" of voter fraud are few and shallow and all grow in the dirt where the Republican Party is planted. Ever since that conspiracy theory began life.

In PA, the ONLY case of voter fraud seen in any election there this year for which the government has seen EVIDENCE is the case of the Republican Ijit who applied for an absentee ballot for his DEAD mother.

In this election NATIONWIDE, the ONLY case of voter fraud for which the government has evidence was perpetrated by TRUMP when he called on NC voters to vote TWICE.

Lindsey Graham Commits ACTUAL Election Fraud

Georgia’s Republican secretary of state, Brad Raffensperger, revealed in an interview that Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) pressured him to toss thousands of valid ballots — and even suggested blocking entire counties from having their mail-in ballots counted.
Raffensperger … said he spoke on Friday to Graham, the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee. . .

“In their conversation, Graham questioned Raffensperger about the state’s signature-matching law and whether political bias could have prompted poll workers to accept ballots with nonmatching signatures, according to Raffensperger. Graham also asked whether Raffensperger had the power to toss all mail ballots in counties found to have higher rates of nonmatching signatures, Raffensperger said.”

“Raffspenger said he was stunned that Graham appeared to suggest that he find a way to toss legally cast ballots,” said the report. . .Raffensperger doesn’t have the power to do what Graham suggested, as counties administer elections in Georgia. ‘It sure looked like he was wanting to go down that road,’ he said.”
As Sec'y. of State and supervisor of the legal conduct of elections, he ought to know when he sees a "duck." Why else would a senator from SC who happens to be Trump's biggest a$$ kisser call a state level government official in Georgia and talk about possibilities of changing election outcomes, if he didn't want that official to do something to make the outcome of the 2020 election changed to be favorable to the a$$ he always kisses?

I can find no historical record that Lady Lindsey ever called to try to get Republican Gov. Brian Kemp, then the Sec'y. of State in control of that very election, to stop suppressing the vote and committing the election fraud he was engaged in that gave him the win. That didn't turn a hair on his carefully sprayed head.

It's interesting this signature argument. My signature looks nothing like it did 30 years ago and when I see it in their voting registrar--yeah I recognize it but my ability to reproduce it is gone. Today's signature is pretty much a real scrawl that really has its roots in signing shit because of credit cards instead of paying for everything in cash like I did for a long time. I would think I'm not the only one. You look at elderly people then-- or people who have developed Parkinson's in some form. The mail is a lifeline for a lot of elderly and working for the Post Office you'd have to often help older people make their addresses readable. Should they have their voting rights taken away because their signatures don't match from 40/50/60 years ago?

Donald wants to discredit everything and sow as much chaos as possible. This guy has never cared an iota about this country really or the people living in it. His day is coming up--it's unfortunate that it's still two months away.

>36 lriley: - signature difference based on years elapsed...Ha! Years nothing - just look at a difference in your signatures at different times under different conditions in the course of a week.

Anyone who has ever put together a will and testament can tell you one of the things the good lawyer does is get you to sign multiple things in their presence so they have multiple examples of your signature - no two are the same.

If you are still one of those people who writes checks ( I am) just look at the signature differences over the course of check writing for a single month - there's no way they look the same and, depending on how rushed you might have been to get a nearly late payment out, the signature differences can be very large.

Florida attorney under investigation for registering to vote in Georgia, encouraging others to do the same
Nicole Carr | December 2, 2020 - 9:14 PM

PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. — A Florida attorney is at the center of a new state investigation after elections officials say he recently attempted to register to vote in Georgia and instructed other Florida Republicans on how to do it .

...Price told the group he’s moving to his brother’s address in Hiram, Georgia in order to register to vote in the January runoff. He repeats and spells and his brother’s name and address, as members of the group jot it down. They can be heard mumbling the address in the background while some write.

“We can truly register at that address?” one woman asks.

“Sure,” Price answers, adding they have to plan to show a move, suggesting they have mail sent there.

“And can it be anywhere in the state of Georgia you can register?” another woman asks. “So if you’ve got cousins, dogs, cats that live somewhere else, it doesn’t need to be one particular county?”

...Channel 2 confirmed Price registered to vote the day after he made the speech, using his brother’s Hiram address and swearing to an affidavit that he was a Georgia resident and eligible to vote.

...Georgia’s Deputy Secretary of State Jordan Fuchs confirmed the office would be exploring the felony charges tied to fraudulent voter registration in Georgia.

For weeks Georgia officials have warned that registering to vote with no attempt to stay in Georgia can be punishable by a felony charge that can carry up to a ten-year sentence , and $100,000 fine...

Sanctions for Trump Lawyers' 'Baseless Lawsuits'?

All 50 states and the District of Columbia have legal ethics rules for lawyers that are derived from standards published by the American Bar Association.

One ABA rule says that lawyers should only assert a claim in court if “there is a basis in law and fact for doing so that is not frivolous.”

Separately, there are rules prohibiting lawyers from making false statements to third parties and engaging in deceitful conduct.

Judges can punish lawyers who violate ethics rules in a particular case by ordering them to pay the winning party’s legal fees.

Judges can also impose milder sanctions such as striking a misleading document from the court record.

These case-specific punishments are sometimes known as “Rule 11 sanctions” in federal court.
More on this:

Trump’s lawyers are abusing the courts. They should be sanctioned

It's like Paxton. None of the Republicans who object to Biden's win really believe the election was stolen. They're just spoiled brats who feel sorry for themselves because they didn't get their way.

As the inimitable Karl Rove said, "America likes comebacks but they (sic) don't like sore losers."

All this whining about "stolen election" is the Republican grievance demographic howling about being in the minority. Must be because they're just not making old white men like they used to.

>52 margd: One thing that can't be emphasized enough is that in some states, yes, DEAD PEOPLE CAN VOTE.

Some people vote by mail and die before Election Day. Voter lists may only be updated once a month and thus, those people have their vote counted.

In other states, it's actually the law that allows people who have received a ballot and return the ballot, then die--that vote will be counted.

>54 MsMixte:

Not, of course, that anyone claimed otherwise.

Of course voters can cast a fully legal ballot and then die. Hell, they can--as some surely have done--do so live and in person at their polling-place.

Does, ought, their ballot count? Well of course it counts! They were alive when they cast it, they were legitimately entitled to cast a ballot. They did. Then, minutes, hours, days or weeks later they died. They came, they voted, they died. All such votes do and ought to count.

What doesn't and oughtn't "count" is a ballot cast fraudulently in the name of a person already dead at the time the ballot was marked, cast, mailed-in or otherwise delivered to the proper authorities.

Those are the kind of ballots to which we're objecting! HINT: they are these ballots which are per se fraudulent and illegal and there is no rationale by which they could "become" valid, legitimate. We don't mean the odd erroneous or handful of wilfully falsely-cast ballots either. If it were just a matter of a few dozen, a few hundred, questionable ballots, we shouldn't be making all this fuss. We're concerned here with fraud on a scale which did alter, illegally, the outcome of whole districts, whole states and the United States Electoral College vote outcome as a whole.

Get a fucking clue, would you!?!?

Enough of such dumb-fuckery offered up for distracting bullshit, as though it had some valid point to it!

An admirable summary of the whole attempt to un-lose the election. Give it up, bucko, you've lost fair and square, and nothing you can say or do will change the fact that millions of US citizens preferred Biden to Trump on election day, and that they did so in enough states to give Biden the win.

Your constant railing against reality is getting you nowhere. Go enjoy your life. If you can't do that in a country run by Joe Biden, go someplace more in line with your fancy. I hear Russia's nice this time of year. You'll probably get to hang out with DD once he decides to give up and flee. Maybe if you go now, you can show him around. Trump Supporter Arrested For Requesting Absentee Ballot For Dead Mother
Daniel Marans | 10/22/2020 04:47 pm ET Updated Oct 22, 2020

...Trump’s crusade against the phantom voter fraud phenomenon has on at least one occasion led him to encourage his supporters to test the system’s safeguards by engaging in the practice themselves. At a rally in North Carolina in September, he told supporters to mail in their ballots and then vote in person, “and if the system is as good as they say it is then obviously they won’t be able to vote” in person.

The Voter Project, a group working to expose Republican voter suppression efforts and dispel myths about voter fraud, blamed Trump for effectively encouraging voter fraud among his own supporters.

“Donald Trump has tried to spread chaos and disinformation about voter fraud for years and he’s never come up with any evidence,” Voter Project spokesperson Mike Mikus said in a statement. “A byproduct of his misinformation is that nearly every instance of voter fraud in recent years has been Trump’s own supporters because they believe his incessant lying.”

Republican Candidate Arrested on Voter Fraud Charges

Republican Frederick Gattuso, 43, who ran against Democratic Mayor Daniel Reiman of Cataret, NJ, in 2018, voted twice by mail using the registration of two people with similar names, officials said. He was arrested and charged with third-degree fraudulent voting.

This lovely character had accused the incumbent of being a sexual predator, thief and drunk driver. Reiman filed defamation lawsuits against Gattuso and three others as a result.
"We exposed his criminal history, his racist and bigoted comments when he ran against me in 2018 so it’s really no surprise that his criminal conduct would continue," Reiman said in response to the voter fraud charge against his nemesis.

"The local Republican leaders should condemn voter fraud and these illegal tactics, but as they endorsed him to run for mayor I can’t help but think that this latest stunt was the idea of some of the the same individuals and maybe more wide spread."
And I bet Mayor Reiman is right.

Trump "Stop the Steal" Attorney, Lin Wood, Under Investigation for VOTER FRAUD

The state of Georgia is looking into suspicious acts, comments, and probably deeds that Lin "Batshit Crazy" Wood voted twice. . . .the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office has launched an investigation into whether Wood was eligible to vote in Georgia, whether he broke the law by casting his ballot and whether he was actually a Georgia resident.

I'm beginning to believe DJT that there was "widespread election fraud" by Republicans! Look at the stories in this thread for evidence.
Sources at the secretary of state’s office say an email that Wood sent to (the reporter) caused them to launch an official investigation.

In the email, Wood confirmed he moved to South Carolina, writing “I have been domiciled in South Carolina for several months after purchasing property in the state in April.”

Now state election investigators are looking into whether that means Wood legally should not have been able to vote in the November election.

They cite a section of Georgia code that reads, “If a person removes to another state with the intention of making it such person’s residence, such person shall be considered to have lost such person’s residence in this state.”
Lie, Cheat, and Steal is probably the name of his law firm. Of course, Wood is full of self-righteous indignation.
Wood sent a statement to (the reporter) late Tuesday evening, saying:

“I have been a resident of the State of Georgia since 1955. I changed my residency to South Carolina yesterday.

“This is pure harassment by the Georgia Secretary of State because I have revealed credible evidence of election fraud on the part of Brad Raffensperger.”

Wood did say that he did not vote in the January runoff because he said it was a not a legitimate election.
Of course.

>62 Limelite: Wood is a lawyer, and knows the legal definition of 'domicile':

"Domicile is a combination of two factors namely, residence and intent to remain. As the term domicile includes residence, the scope and significance of the term domicile is larger than the term residence. An individual may have several residences whereas; s/he will have only one domicile. Domicile is more used in reference to personal rights, duties and obligations."

64Limelite
Fev 4, 2021, 9:31 pm

>63 MsMixte:

The hair Wood is trying to split is his common legal definition of "domicile" being distinct (and overriding) GA specific requirement for residence within state lines and leaving that residence to reside outside state lines, yet voting in a state (GA) where you no longer reside (by GA statutory language) and thus are voting illegally.

Pure voter fraud where GA and FL, and I assume several other states are concerned. Domicile is a term both GA and FL, and probably other states allow, in special circumstances, to military and college students to retain voting rights in their state and precinct of choice while forced by circumstances to no longer reside there through no fault of their own.

I don't think Wood has a "wooden" leg to stand on. And I think he knows it and certainly knew it on Election Day. Being a lawyer, as you point out.

Whatever, GA intends to investigate and I'm willing to see if the Rule of Law applies to all, or if selective law says IOKIYAR.

GA Launches Investigation into Trump Election Intreferance

Reasonable expectation is that the investigation will lead to criminal charges. Should US Senators refuse to do their duty and convict Trump of the House's Impeachment article, Georgia may promise to grind Trump slowly and finely within its own state election law. That will likely lead to him being a defendant with more than the threat of being unable to hold public office ever again. He could do time in one of Georgia's less Southern-ly hospitable iron bar "hotels."
Georgia’s Secretary of State’s office opened a probe on Monday into former U.S. President Donald Trump’s efforts to overturn the state’s 2020 election results, a step that could lead to a criminal investigation (sic-should read indictments) by state and local authorities.
(SNIP)
. . .the probe, which was first reported by Reuters, was prompted by a complaint filed on Monday by George Washington University law professor John Banzhaf.

Banzhaf told Reuters he spoke with an investigator in Raffensperger’s office on Monday, hours after he filed the complaint requesting a probe into Trump’s potential election interference. It was his fourth such complaint to Georgia officials since the Jan. 2 call. . .
(SNIP)
Legal experts say Trump’s phone calls may have violated at least three state criminal election laws: conspiracy to commit election fraud, criminal solicitation to commit election fraud, and intentional interference with performance of election duties. The felony and misdemeanor violations are punishable by fines or imprisonment. Reuters
Don't be fooled, these calls to Brad Raffenspergerr weren't just "any" call. Republicans will argue that the president is allowed to make "calls" to anyone he chooses. The investigation is about the content of the calls. They were calls made to allow Trump the occasion to intimidate the Sec'y of State into overturning a legitimate, certified election result by finding and producing votes for Trump that did not exist. Clear solicitation of election fraud in a conspiracy to overturn the will of the people and disenfranchise the votes of the winning major attempted by Trump.

Former FL Republican State Senator Arrested on Felony Election Fraud

Once again its the Republicans who cheat on elections -- and get caught. Frank Artiles, the Republican political operative suspected of secretly arranging a sham candidate to run in a key 2020 state senate race, surrendered to a Miami-Dade County jail on Thursday to face felony campaign finance charges.
Artiles is facing several charges, including felony charges for making illegal contributions and false swearing in connection to the election, according to a copy of the arrest warrant. Prosecutors say Artiles offered Alexis (Alex) Pedro Rodriguez $50,000 to run in the race to “siphon votes from the incumbent,” Democrat Jose Javier Rodriguez. Half was to be paid during the election and the rest after the election, Alex Rodriguez told prosecutors.

The warrant states that the actual amount paid by Artiles to Alex Rodriguez before and after the election totaled $44,708.03.
(SNIP)
Alex Rodriguez is also facing criminal charges.

Alex Rodriguez ran as an independent, did zero campaigning and took no calls from the media before the Nov. 3 election. But his candidacy was bolstered by deceptive political mail advertisements paid for by a dark money group whose address is a UPS store in Atlanta.

The arrest Thursday is but the latest ignominy for Artiles. ,b>He resigned from the Senate in disgrace in 2017 amid two parallel scandals.

The first was an alcohol-fueled rant in which he called two Black lawmakers a racist slur in a Tallahassee bar. The second involved the hiring of a former Hooters “calendar girl” and a Playboy model with no political experience as “consultants” using funds from his political committee. Artiles is now a lobbyist.
Because you can't go any lower among Republican bottom feeders. Look how many former Trump appointees have "siphoned" off to "K" Street lobbying firms. The only employers who will have them.

How a Sham Candidate Helped Flip a Florida (State) Election
Patricia Mazzei | March 19, 2021

The candidate and the man who prosecutors say recruited him to play spoiler in a Florida Senate race last year were both arrested this week.

...(Alexis Pedroz) Rodriguez, a machine-parts dealer who had been struggling financially, agreed to help (State Senator Frank Artiles, a Republican), who promised him $50,000 in return. He switched from Republican to no party affiliation and qualified for the ballot as Alex Rodriguez. He did not disclose that he actually lived far from the district, in Boca Raton, or that the money for his candidacy came from Mr. Artiles.

In November, State Senator José Javier Rodríguez, an effective legislator who had crusaded for Florida to face the climate change crisis, lost to the Republican challenger, Ileana Garcia, by a mere 32 votes out of more than 215,000 that had been cast. Alex Rodriguez had received 6,382 votes and played the spoiler.

It was a devastating loss for Florida Democrats in a year of Republican successes in the state. It was also the result of criminal behavior, prosecutors say.

On Thursday, Mr. Artiles, 47, and Mr. Rodriguez, 55, turned themselves in for arrest. They were each charged with three third-degree felony charges related to violating campaign finance law, including for conspiracy to make campaign contributions in excess of legal limits, making those excess contributions and false swearing in connection to an election...

...leaves unanswered the questions of where the money for the scheme came from — the Republican Senate president said the party had nothing to do with it — and whether the funds were tied to secretive dark money that oozed through two other State Senate races last year. Republicans have controlled the state government for more than two decades...South Florida has an ignominious history of political and electoral shenanigans

Months after Trump complaints, some courts are finding irregularities in 2020 elections By John Solomon for Just the News

Long after former President Donald Trump dropped his legal challenges to the 2020 election, some courts in battleground states are beginning to declare the way widespread absentee ballots were implemented or counted violated state laws.

The latest ruling came this month in Michigan, where the State Court of Claims concluded that Democratic Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson’s instructions on signature verification for absentee ballots violated state law.

Benson had instructed local election clerks a month before the Nov. 3 election to start with a “presumption” that all signatures on absentee ballots were valid and only reject those that had “multiple significant and obvious” inconsistencies. Republicans and one election clerk challenged her instructions in court. ...

Florida Dems seek DOJ probe into sham candidates — Ballard adds another Democrat to D.C. team — Jousting in Senate over prison budget cuts
GARY FINEOUT | 03/25/2021

...Who’s next? — Former state Sen. Frank Artiles was arrested by Miami authorities last week for a scheme involving a hotly-contested state Senate race. Is there a broader federal investigation coming soon? Florida’s 11 Democratic members of Congress certainly think one is warranted.

... all 11 Democrats have signed a letter that will be sent Thursday morning to Attorney General Merrick Garland that maintains that a much wider probe is needed to look at dark money donors and “sham candidates."

Last week’s action — State Attorney Kathy Fernandez-Rundle in Miami announced charges against Artiles and Alex Rodriguez, a candidate who ran for a South Florida state senate seat. Artiles is accused of paying Alex Rodriguez to run as a no-party affiliated candidate against then-state Sen. Jose Javier Rodriguez to siphon away votes in the election. Artiles alleged scheme likely helped flip the seat to Republicans.

3 races targeted — POLITICO has previously reported that political committees funded by Proclivity, a mystery donor, pumped hundreds of thousands of dollars into mailers to boost the candidacies of no-party affiliated candidates that did not campaign. The three races targeted, two in Miami and one in Seminole County, were the focus of intense campaigns funded by leadership from both parties. In each case, Republicans won and the mail pieces featured messaging generally used to target Democratic voters. Money apparently flowed in from an out-of-state UPS box.

From the letter... “Based on the suspicious practices outlined in this letter, including the likelihood of several potential illegal interstate transfers of funds, we strongly believe that much greater scrutiny of this matter at the federal level is warranted. There are important unanswered questions regarding the original source of the money to fund this scheme, and whether the entity that provided the funding was in violation of any federal campaign finance laws or Internal Revenue Service codes. It is also a pressing public concern as to whether any fraud occurred in furtherance of a federal criminal conspiracy designed to influence the outcome of one or more elections.”

...The letter concludes that “unlike the dangerous, baseless claims of voter fraud impacting the 2020 Election, in this case, evidence actually exists that a multi-state fraud conspiracy was committed against Florida’s voters.”...

Credible Investigation into Voting Machine Tampering in Colorado. . .

. . .and it's not being initiated by Donald Trump's allies. It's worse than that. The Mesa County Clerk and Recorder's Office is under investigation by the Colorado Secretary of State's Office for a breach in security over its election system.
Secretary of State Jena Griswold released an order. . . calling on Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters to supply surveillance videos and documents showing how the breach occurred, and how security information ended up on a social media post.

If Peters can't show proper chain of custody for that security information, which involves certain passwords that are eyes-only for state and county election workers who have passed background checks, all of the county's election systems could be immediately decertified, meaning the county would be on the hook for an expensive refit of all of its machines.
Tina Peters is fervent Trump supporter "who appears to have executed a self-own of historic proportion."
Last week, QAnon conspiracists shared a video claiming a "whistleblower" provided alleged evidence that Dominion voting machines are connected to the internet. . .

In the video, the alleged whistleblower included an image of their election system's BIOS password, and in doing so "they stepped on a pretty large rake – because the password in the video was unique, which allowed the Colorado Secretary of State's office to identify which county the leak came from and during which meeting it was recorded. . .

"It turns out the election hacker was not Antifa or a Hugo Chavez apparition but a real live human in the office of Mesa County Clerk and Recorder Tina Peters. . .
In the parlance, I believe that's called a 'slam dunk.'

Election fraud, alive and well in the 2020 election per DJT, is being perpetrated by DJT cultists who are so adept at it, they out themselves. Among all the Orange Shitegibbon's drunken and Kraken legal eagles, his QAnony fanatics in CO, "auditors" in AZ, and his Congressional cheerleaders who are the laughing stock of the US House, is it any wonder the guy LOST BIGLY in the last election?

NEW: Dominion Voting Suing OAN Reporters for Defamation

Not content with hammering Donald Trump's lawyers and Fox News, and Newsmax Dominion filed a new (but long-awaited) lawsuit against right wing nut media outlet, OAN, seeking more than $1.6 billion in damages. Named defendants in the lawsuit are reporters Chanel Rion and Christina Bobb, along with former Overstock CEO Patrick Byrne.
"During and after the November 2020 election, OAN saw a business opportunity," the suit alleges. "Spurred by a quest for profits and viewers, OAN — a competitor to media giant Fox — engaged in a race to the bottom with Fox and other outlets such as Newsmax to spread false and manufactured stories about election fraud. Dominion quickly became the focus of this downward spiral of lies, as each broadcaster attempted to outdo the others by making the lies more outrageous, spreading them further, and endorsing them as strongly as possible."

The company accused Byrne of repeatedly and falsely claiming that Dominion rigged the vote counts to steal the election for President Joe Biden. . .
. . .and, kicking the tech ex-CEO while he was down, blamed him for "spinning conspiracy theories that triggered an ongoing 'audit' in Arizona," citing allegations in its Newsmax lawsuit, which included this detailed complaint:
"Newsmax helped create and cultivate an alternate reality where up is down, pigs have wings, and Dominion engaged in a colossal fraud to steal the presidency from Donald Trump by rigging the vote.
Well, that latter bit might only be true if (referencing previous post) Mesa County Clerk, Tina Peters, f*cked around with Dominion voting machines in CO. But those pigs couldn't fly, either.

Somewhat more (7 million +) voted for Biden and somewhat more have gotten their shots and it’s a big deal that they have but personally from going through it a second time now only a very minor inconvenience.

#76–over the last 5 days there have been over 123,000 new covid cases just out of Florida including over 28,000 each of the last two days. Could break the 30,000 mark tomorrow and the sky’s the limit or at least in Florida until it hits all 21 million. There are over 15,000 as we speak hospitalized in Florida and over 3,000 in ICU’s. These numbers are being driven by the unvaccinated and the hard right’s narratives are a large part of that. Gov. DeSantis unfortunately is so far down the path of what he describes as freedom issues but really are public health concerns that there is no turning back for him that isn’t political suicide so a lot of people are about to die or are going to die in the relatively near future so he can continue to try to further his personal political ambitions.

On no day when covid was first breaking out or in the months following after did NYS (relatively around the same population) approach the case numbers or hospitalizations that Florida is currently facing now. Florida is busting records all over the place. If you do nothing as DeSantis is to mitigate these numbers they are just going to go higher and in pretty much every negative way imaginable. IMO DeSantis’s cocksuredness just shows how unfit for the office he holds he is. These cases and deaths are something you and people like you own.

>82 TheToadRevoltof84: the Democrats ... are indebting future generations to the hilt.

https://www.thebalance.com/us-debt-by-president-by-dollar-and-percent-3306296 ; by percentage, in the modern era, the highest additions to the debt are Reagan, Bush Jr., Obama and Bush Sr. (note that Bush Sr. had four years; if we doubled it for a eight year term like the other presidents on this list, Bush Sr. would beat Obama). By absolute dollar amount (uninflation adjusted), we've got Obama, Donald Trump, George Bush Jr. and Reagan; likewise doubling Trump's figure for an eight year term would put him at the top of the pack.

We can't even have a discussion about what is a good thing until you acknowledge reality. I'm not talking about complex things here, just basic government statistics.

>85 TheToadRevoltof84: Then why did you say "the Democrats ... are indebting future generations to the hilt"? If you're going to complain about the debt, then be honest about it, and accept that "don't tax and spend" doesn't work to reduce the debt, that Republicans as a whole are feeding voters a line of bullshit when they say they're concerned about the debt.

Our government is out of control and you somehow think giving them more control will help?

I don't know what "out of control" means; the US Constitution is designed to reduce the control any one person or group can have over the government.

Furthermore, I want a government that permits gay marriage everywhere, permits abortion everywhere, doesn't jump up to threaten to control the video game/movie/social media industry on a regular basis, is more concerned that drug dealers sell drugs of the purity they advertise then that they sell drugs. Funny that, I'm suspecting that that's not the "more control" you want to stop the government from having. OTOH, I don't want to have the forests destroyed by acid rain and the government have no power to force the company responsible to take any sort of responsibility for the consequences. I want the government to stop the next Bhopal or PepCon accident from killing me or leveling my house. I want the government to stop me from being poisoned by my food. I want the federal government to stop any state government from denying its citizens the republican form of government they were promised, to make sure all citizens have the right to vote and have basic rights uninfringed at the state level.

Quite simply you're selling me a pig in a poke, and I know it. I don't see the Republicans as being more free; they're more likely to create bogus laws in the name of the Religious Right or Law & Order. I see the problem with crony capitalism, but don't see the Republicans doing anything better.

No, many* progressives want the government to provide basic and essential services to everybody who needs it using the tax money which it collects from the people. Many of my Scandinavian friends and colleagues are paying more than 50% of their monthly salary in tax, but none of them are complaining because the money provides them with the services they need. It's also about realising that allowing the poor and disadvantaged to fall by the wayside without access to good quality health care and education, to basic foodstuffs, decent housing, etc, is not just bad for those people but is bad for society as a whole.

* "Progressives" is a label which covers a multitude of different viewpoints and has no single manifesto so I can only say "many progessives", not "all progessives".

Wait! There's More. . .

Remember our old friend Tina Peters, right wing nut job clerk in CO? Here's the update to the investigation in her alleged voting machine scandal. That person allegedly leaked the passwords, which he photographed while the machines were being serviced, to an Intenet conspiracy activist, who made them public. The upshot? All the voting machines under Peters' supervision (Mesa County) have to be replaced. Nice post-election coup for Dominion. For justice to be served, IMO, Peters needs to pay "Paul" for their cost.
The secretary of state’s office believes Tina Peters, Mesa County’s Republican clerk and recorder, allowed an unauthorized person who was not an employee to attend the trusted build. The individual, identified as Gerald Wood, took photos of election system passwords, which were later posted on the website of a conspiracy theorist. . .

(Also). . .video surveillance cameras at the clerk’s office appear to have been turned off before the build, and they were not turned back on until this month.
Even the Republican head of the state association of county clerks is outraged by Peters' blatant actions to subvert automated voting counts.
“The county clerk has not communicated at all with us,” despite an order to comply with inspection and requests for information, Griswold said Thursday. Instead, Peters appeared Tuesday at a “cyber symposium” hosted by MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, where she accused the secretary of state of “raiding her office.
Wait! There's still more!
An investigator with 21st Judicial District Attorney Dan Rubinstein’s office is also looking into related potential criminal conduct, Rubinstein confirmed in an email to Newsline. That investigation is separate from the secretary of state’s probe.

“I was told that they believed that there were potential criminal matters which would be referred to my office for prosecution,” Rubinstein said in the email. “Per state law, the District Attorney’s Office is responsible for investigating and prosecuting election related criminal activity.
Tina Peters is a hot mess, and this latest bit of skullduggery is not her first rodeo.
In February of 2020, election workers discovered 574 uncounted Mesa County ballots from the previous election. Peters reportedly attributed the issue to “human error” and called the discovery “disappointing” and “sad.”

Peters later survived a recall attempt when a group seeking her ouster did not collect enough petition signatures by the deadline.

A person appointed by the Mesa County Board of Commissioners to oversee the recall, and make sure the county’s June 2020 election did not experience problems, described Peters as “distrusting, frequently rude and antagonistic” in a 2020 report to the secretary of state.

(Local newspaper investigation revealed that). . .Peters had altered job titles to get more personnel in the positions she wanted — even though three Republican Mesa County commissioners had rejected her request for more elections staff.
When they're not plotting to stack the courts, Republicans busy themselves stacking election offices with political allies to their nefarious games.

Off topic pedantry, but P-code, as used in the UCSD Pascal system, predates Z-machine by a couple years. P-Code may be the first major use of distributing code written for a virtual machine, but I hesitate to call it first, and code compiled for a virtual machine, then recompiled for a real machine, predates both by at least a decade.

(Off topic pedantry)^2

(Just putting years on Z-machine and UCSD-Pascal).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Z-machine (1979)
The Z-machine is a virtual machine that was developed by Joel Berez and Marc Blank in 1979 and used by Infocom for its text adventure games.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UCSD_Pascal (1977)

But the idea goes back way longer:
http://www.standardpascaline.org/pascals.html

Pascal-S is a subset of Pascal and is compiler and interpreter in one program. The idea is the same: You can code the Pascal-S compiler/interpreter by hand for a new platform and then all your Pascal-S programs can run on it. (Pascal-S goes back to 1972).

(I had the displeasure of using a Pascal version on a Perq workstation for some months. But at least it made me very aware of the possibility of weird compiler errors.)

Florida Republican Fake Candidate Pleads Guilty

Recruited by a former Republican state senator to run against the incumbent Democratic candidate with a similar name, Alexis "Alex" Rodriguez takes plea deal in vote siphoning scheme that caused long time South Florida representative Alex Rodriguez (D-37) to lose by 32 votes. He was paid more than $40,000 by former Republican state Sen. Frank Artiles who recruited him and hatched the election fraud scheme. Rodriguez
pleaded guilty to two felony charges: conspiracy to accept or make campaign contributions in excess of legal limits and accepting and making those excess campaign contributions.
(SNIP)
In exchange for his guilty plea, Rodriguez. . .will serve three years probation, including one year on house arrest with a GPS monitor. He can’t work for any political campaigns during that time, and he has to cooperate with prosecutors.

He was previously facing four felony charges and up to 20 years in prison.
That's a light sentence for a convicted felon. One wonders if he will have his personal voting rights restored in a state that under Republican control purged thousands of former felons from the voting rolls, believing they would vote for the Democrats who supported the restoration of full civil rights after they served their sentences.

>104 jjwilson61: Well, he was arrested in March. . .let me see.

He caught a new charge in April on top of his campaign finance charges which are the same as Rodriguez pleaded guilty to in his deal.
. . .third-degree felony for allegedly advising and helping Rodriguez to “willfully submit a false voter registration application” on June 9, 2020, days before Rodriguez qualified to appear on the ballot.

Under state law, those charges carry sentences of up to five years in prison if convicted.
As of April, no information of trial date* but I did find this gem.
Investigators also noted in the arrest affidavit that a third party was involved. They have not named the third person, but they said the individual withdrew $9,000 in cash from a Miami bank and gave it to Rodriguez to cover legal fees.
Could it be that the anonymous donor was relying on Rodriguez to a) hire a lousy lawyer; or b) take a plea deal and not go to trial? If so, he placed a good bet. Must wonder if he got any of his money back. . .heh heh.

* Artiles trial starts Aug. 30 if no postponements or deals.

Artiles is a nasty piece of work. He didn't really retire. He resigned after being outed using racial slurs and other derogatory language, a violation of rules at the Governors Club, a members only dining hall with rules that include a dress code, even for kids. You get kicked out of there, you get kicked out of politics it appears.

Trump Election Fraud? for Sure; Bribery? You Bet!

They've found the smoking gun in the 2013 political campaign of Pam Bondi who ran for FL Atty Gen'l. when the state was in the middle of criminal investigation into Trump University and she received a $25,000 political campaign from Trump's charitable foundation. Reams have been written about the suspicious nature of the timing of that contribution. "The donation occurred just as Bondi was supposed to be considering joining New York’s investigation of the Trump University scam."

We knew that Trump signed the check. Here's what we couldn't prove until now, thanks to The Daily Beast investigative reporting.
. . .contrary to previous claims from Trump’s presidential campaign and company executives, new records acquired by The Daily Beast show that Trump Organization employees were explicitly told this was a donation to a political group, and emails show that Trump’s own executive assistant had met in person with Bondi’s finance director in New York City.
Had reporters been mice in the room that day, they might have heard a Trump executive whose last name probably begins with "W" say, "Tell me how much it will take to make your state's investigation into our "U" go away." Remember, it was Weisselberg who said that an "ignorant" underling had made a mistake and that the money should have come out of Trump's personal account. Never mind "Sleepy Joe," Donald. "Comatose Alan" must have been too incompetent to keep his job. Look where he is today.

Here's the email sent from Bondi's campaign finance director (Aleksander) to Trump's executive assistant (Goff).
“Again, it was a pleasure meeting you today!!! Thanks again for always being so responsive and wonderful to work with.” Aleksander wrote to Graff. “Let Mr. Trump know that we are SO VERY thankful for his commitment of 25k and If he wants to make it 50k, that’s perfectly acceptable. :) Seriously, thanks again for everything!!!

Here's the follow-up two weeks later, beginning with a second Aleksander email 9/11/13. The Smoking Gun:
Aleksander mentioned their previous meeting in New York City and provided Graff with a copy of And Justice for All’s Internal Revenue Service W-9 form, which lists the group’s “federal tax classification” as a “political organization.

Two days later, Trump sent Bondi the check with a signed letter that misspelled her name as “Pam Biondi” and read, “Dear Pam: You are the greatest!”

The signed check to the political group was issued from The Donald J. Trump Foundation, Inc., a tax-exempt nonprofit regulated by Section 501(c)(3) of U.S. tax code—which prohibits political donations by charities.
And that, ladies and gentleman is how you intentionally commit election fraud with illegal political donations, or how you commit bribery in order to extort influence on a criminal investigation to make it go away.

Judge sanctions pro-Trump lawyers who brought 'frivolous' election fraud lawsuits (CNN)

A federal judge ordered sanctions Wednesday for Sidney Powell, Lin Wood and several other lawyers who worked on Trump-aligned lawsuits seeking to challenge the results of the 2020 election. US District Judge Linda Parker, of the Eastern District of Michigan, said the lawyers had "engaged in litigation practices" that were "abusive and, in turn, sanctionable." "Sanctions are required to deter the filing of future frivolous lawsuits designed primarily to spread the narrative that our election processes are rigged and our democratic institutions cannot be trusted," the judge wrote in a 110-page opinion. Parker is ordering the lawyers to reimburse the attorneys' fees that the city of Detroit and Michigan state officials paid in seeking the sanctions. The lawyers must also take legal education classes, the judge said, and she is referring her decision to the Michigan Attorney Grievance Commission, and "the appropriate disciplinary authority for the jurisdiction(s) where each attorney is admitted," for potential disciplinary action...

Republican election audits have led to voting system breaches, experts say (Guardian)

Republican efforts to question Donald Trump’s defeat in 2020 have led to voting system breaches experts say pose a risk to future elections. Copies of Dominion Voting Systems softwares used for designing ballots, configuring voting machines and tallying results were distributed at an event this month in South Dakota organized by the MyPillow chief executive, Mike Lindell, a Trump ally who has made unsubstantiated claims about last year’s election. Matt Masterson, a former top election security official in the Trump administration, said: “We told election officials, essentially, that you should assume this information is already out there. Now we know it is, and we don’t know what hackers are going to do with it.” The software copies came from voting equipment in Mesa county, Colorado, and Antrim county, Michigan, where Trump allies challenged results last fall. Dominion software is used in some 30 states, including California, Georgia and Michigan...

FBI on the Hunt for CO Republican Supervisor of Elections, Tina Peters

Were you curious and wondering about who that fugitive is that Pillow Guy is hiding from the law? Wonder no more.

Tina Peters. Remember her? she's the Trumpty Dumbpty cheat who facilitated a security breach of Mesa County voting machines running Dominion s/w by her QAnon 'buddies' who obtained the BIOS PWs for the machines and posted them online? The FBI wants her now. But appears Mike Lindell is hiding Tina in a secret location, committing obstruction of justice by doing so. Not so strange bedfellows in their case, I suppose.

Tina's tiny hands were sloppy handling Mesa voters' ballots for years. Tina's mind remained sloppy even after being reprimanded; she has quite the history of incompetence and negligence. As reported at the time by the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel. . .
"During Peters' first year as clerk, in 2019, her office was blamed for leaving more than 570 uncounted ballots in a box, long past an election. Less than a year later, one of her office's drop boxes leaked ballots, sending some floating in the summer breeze. . .

"While overseeing the November 2019 general election, Peters' office forgot to count 574 ballots, instead leaving them unattended in a drop box outside her office for months.
More about Tiny Hands Tina's inability to hang onto ballots properly.

Wouldn't it be a hoot if when the FBI finds the Lindell-Peters hideout, they capture the fugitive and her Pillow Guy accomplice in flagrante delicto snuggled up in bed stuffing empty pillow cases with ballots from the Cyber Ninjas' Arizona election audit?!?!?

CO Election Fraud Case Spreads To Deputy Clerk

With Mesa County Clerk, Tina Peters, in hiding, courtesy of Pillow Guy's obstruction of justice, investigators' attention is addressing possibility of a new suspect also obstructing justice by pressuring county clerk employees not to cooperate with a "joint local, state and federal criminal investigation into an election system security breach discovered last month."
Deputy clerk Belinda Knisley of the Mesa County Clerk and Recorders office has been placed on paid administrative leave due to a "confidential personnel matter," CNN previously reported. A source in the Mesa County government tells CNN that the "confidential personnel matter" refers to an open county human resources investigation in which Knisley is accused of pressuring fellow clerk employees -- her subordinates -- not to cooperate with the criminal investigation into the breach.

Knisley was arrested on Wednesday, charged with felony burglary and misdemeanor cyber crime. As part of her bail conditions, Knisley agreed to have no contact with any clerk employees.

(She is accused of). . . allegedly creating a hostile work environment for clerk employees, she had been in contact with the employees, "in a manner that is intimidating to them, despite the pending investigation and her leave." But prosecutors said that she had since assured her counsel that she would have no contact with the employees.
This follows on the heels of Knisley's previous conduct and involvement in the Trump supporting Peters' election fraud. Both women are now suspected of criminal conduct.
Court documents filed by the district attorney allege she (Knisley) went to the Mesa County Clerk's office on August 25, despite being told not to be on the premises because of an active HR investigation in which she "engaged in inappropriate, unprofessional conduct in the workplace." While at the office on August 25, court documents allege that she used Peters' logins to access the county computer system and attempt to print documents.

Knisley had already been in hot water with the Colorado secretary of state over the security breach. . .(who) revoked Knisley's election supervisory duties because of it, alleging that Knisley helped facilitate the breach by misrepresented (sic) a non-employee's role and employment status at a software update of election equipment event in May.
Knisley's legal problems have grown out of the expanding investigation into criminal conduct by her boss that now includes local, state, and federal agencies.
The criminal investigation into the clerk's office began after Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold, a Democrat, accused Republican Mesa County Clerk and Recorder Tina Peters -- as well as the office itself -- of facilitating a security breach in May. The breach resulted in confidential voting machine logins, and forensic images of their hard drives, being published in a QAnon-affiliated Telegram channel in early August.

The district attorney launched the investigation last month, and it's since been joined by the Colorado Attorney General and FBI.

Sidney Powell, L. Lin Wood among attorneys ordered to pay $175,000 over Michigan ‘Kraken’ suit
Rosalind S. Helderman | Dec 2, 2021

A federal judge in Michigan has ordered a group of lawyers who brought a failed lawsuit challenging the 2020 election results to pay about $175,000 in legal fees to the state of Michigan and the city of Detroit, the latest in a series of rulings from federal judges seeking to hold lawyers accountable for trying to use the courts to overturn a democratic election.

U.S. District Judge Linda V. Parker had already ordered that the group of nine lawyers — including Sidney Powell and L. Lin Wood, both allies to former president Donald Trump — be disciplined for their role in the suit, which in August she called “a historic and profound abuse of the judicial process.”...

One of a series of lawsuits filed in several states known as the “Kraken” cases — after Powell promised her lawsuits would amount to releasing the mythical creature in Trump’s defense — the Michigan case had been brought on behalf of six local Republicans in late November 2020, after Joe Biden’s victory in the state had already been certified.

It argued that Biden’s win had been marred by fraud and asked Parker to require that Trump instead be declared the winner of Michigan’s 16 electoral votes. Parker rejected the request in December, writing that she was being asked to disenfranchise “more than 5.5 million Michigan citizens who, with dignity, hope, and a promise of a voice, participated in the 2020 General Election.”...

...Last week, a federal judge in Colorado ordered two other lawyers in that state to pay nearly $187,000 to public officials and private companies they sued in a failed challenge to the 2020 results, writing that the lawyers needed “to take responsibility” for the legal misconduct represented by the suit.

Grievance proceedings have also been opened in multiple states to examine whether lawyers involved in such suits should be disbarred...

Idiotic "Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty" draws conclusions which fly in the face of its own study's findings ( https://will-law.org/election-integrity/ ) on the 2020 presidential election:

"It is almost certain that in Wisconsin’s 2020 election the number of votes that did not comply with existing legal requirements exceeded Joe Biden’s margin of victory."

That's another way of saying that, had these disputable ballots been excluded, as critics (and these findings say, for their failure to "comply with existing legal requirements", then, obviously, Biden should not and could not have "carried" the state and, therefore, never deserved to have had its electoral college electors credited to his total.

Yet, it goes on to state,

"It is still not possible to infer fraud solely from these unlawfully cast votes or failure to maintain voter rolls.

"There isn’t much, if any, evidence that these voters did anything intentionally wrong. In many instances, they seem to have relied on the advice of election officials." ...

This is perverse reasoning since the whole trouble and the point of the election-fraud allegations is that they involved not so much individual voters' acts of fraud as the fraudulent acts of election officials themselves at many voting stations. It's this fraud and the concern for it which makes a mockery of the stupid "finding" that "there isn’t much, if any, evidence that these voters did anything intentionally wrong."

So fucking what!?!?!?!?

You seem to be assuming a lot here, most particularly that eliminating these ballots would change the result. This is tantamount to assuming that the problematic ballots are so overwhelmingly biased towards Biden that eliminating them would make a difference. Statistically, seems pretty unlikely.

You also seem to be assuming that ballots "not complying with requirements" are evidence of fraudulent activity, and that election officials are biased overwhelmingly in favor of the Democratic candidate. Again, and as usual, you don't seem to bother much with supporting your contentions, and it's not clear that you've even thought things through enough to realize how much you're assuming here. 3 "Big Lie" Floridans Arrested for Voter Fraud

Remember The Villages? That's the gigantic retirement community infamous for nasty gray haired white bigots who fell in love with another nasty bigot who sports a slightly different personal color scheme. Their favorite mode of transportation is the golf cart bedecked with national flags and Trump stickers. Their humiliation in the 2020 election has knocked them out of the headlines. Until today.

Three residents of The Villages are charged with casting multiple ballots in the last election.
Jay Ketcik, Joan Halstead and John Rider are each charged with casting more than one ballot in an election, a third-degree felony punishable by up to five years in prison. The probe into the allegations of voting irregularities was initiated by the office of Sumter County Supervisor of Elections Bill Keen, according to prosecutors.
(SNIP)
All three are registered as Republicans in Florida, voter registration records show.

Facebook pages that appear to belong to Ketcik and Halstead contain several posts expressing support for former president Donald Trump.
But that didn't stop them from voting again in other states by absentee ballot, as well as in Florida, too. It doesn't matter how may states you're registered to vote in, you can only vote in one. These affluent folks who maintain domiciles in two states, feel eligible for at least two votes. I guess they're attitude is, "I pay taxes there, too, so I'm entitled to vote twice!"

Gov. DeSantis may want to reconsider establishing his new state office to "investigate election fraud." On the other hand, knowing the man and his fellow Trumpty Dumbpty believers, I suspect they will amend any bill authorizing such an agency with, an IOKIYAR article. Gawd knows, they draw the veil over running fraudulent "ghost" candidates to confuse voters in order to assure their anointed one gets elected. The governor pretends ignorance so well, most observers think he really is an ignoramus.

Trump claims 5,000 dead people voted in Georgia – but the real number is four (Guardian)

Donald Trump has claimed 5,000 dead people voted in 2020 in Georgia, a state he lost to Joe Biden on his way to national defeat. He was off by 4,996. As the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported on Monday, state officials have confirmed four cases of dead people voting...

The "Big Lie" is True! Sort of: Republicans DID Try to Steal the Election

The Villages of central Florida. The retirement community where voter fraud just won't quit. Late last year, three residents of the community faced charges of voter fraud fr voting in two different stats in the same election. Today, Villages resident,Charles Franklin Barnes, 64, was arrested and charged with fraud for casting more than one ballot during an election, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

For some, retirement leaves them with too much time on their hands, and apparently they have to turn to the devil's work to keep from being bored. But the angels of certain people's nature are watching. An anonymous tipster busted the original three and Barnes, according to reports.
In early May, a self-described “citizen election integrity analyst” sent an anonymous email addressed to elections officials in Michigan and Florida’s Division of Elections, which is overseen by Secretary of State Laurel Lee.

“Hello Florida and Michigan!” the email stated. “I was looking at voter data between your two states and I noticed a couple records that seem similar.”

The email, sent by someone with the username “Totes Legit Votes,” listed the names and addresses of more than a dozen voters registered in both Florida and Michigan who appeared to have multiple ballots cast under their names in the 2020 election.

“I obtained voter rolls from states I was legally eligible to receive from and that would fit within my hobbyist budget of a couple hundred dollars,” the unidentified tipster told News 6 in response to questions sent to the email address printed in court records.

“I believe that if hundreds of people sign sworn affidavits that they saw election irregularities, people should at least try to check into it,” the tipster said. “You can’t claim ‘the system is working’ if random internet people have to find the violations for you”.
Not a vigilante, but a vigilant guardian of the law that is the bedrock of American democracy.

AZ Republican "Certification Forgery" Signee Ran Russian-Style Troll Farm

Of the five states that submitted fake certifications submitted to the National Archives, one of the people behind the forgery from AZ has a more extensive election fraud involvement. That person is Republican state Rep. Jake Hoffman. When questioned about his actions, Hoffman declared he was an official elector. That's a lie.

Here's the second chapter in this perp's fraudulent political career. At the time of the 2020 national election, Jake Hoffman was president and chief executive of the Phoenix-based digital marketing firm, Rally Forge, which was running the defamation program that churned out misinformation and scurrilous posts against Joe Biden and against COVID immunizations for Turning Point, a far right wing youth organization. It also campaigned for the Big Lie and accused Democrats of stealing the election, corrupting its process, and committing election fraud with mail-in ballots. In addition, it characterized BLM. . .
. . .protesters (as) “fascist groups . . . terrorizing American citizens” and decr(ied) the “BLM Marxist agenda,” among other incendiary language. . .
. . .in posts.

Teenagers, some of them minors, were paid to pump out the messages at the direction of Turning Point Action, an affiliate of Turning Point USA. At the same time, Rally Forge administered their dissemination over social media platforms in an attempt to manipulate maximum impact. Their posts were not spontaneous expression representing a groundswell of ordinary voters' opinions. They arose from a program that hired the kids as private contractors to make them, giving them incentives if their specious "opinions" garnered lots of attention. The kids were
. . .paid to use their own accounts, though nowhere disclosing their relationship with Turning Point Action or the digital firm brought in to oversee the day-to-day activity.
That firm being Representative Hoffman's.

These activities got Rep. Hoffman banned from Twitter. His activities as an election fraudster and elector poseur also saw him flee reporters when questioned about them. https://twitter.com/brahmresnik/status/1481425178395430912?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7...

It's That Mesa County CO Elections Clerk. . . Again

Local Denver ABC affiliate TV station reports a grand jury will investigate allegations of official misconduct, tampering with election equipment by the pro-Trump Clerk and Recorder, Tina Peters, who let an unauthorized person, one Gerald Wood, access the voting machines. Peters made the national news in 2021 after special passwords for the county’s voting systems and other information from voting machines was leaked to a right wing website. Wood "was also present for a secure software system update."

Mesa County DA Dan Rubinstein and Colorado AG Phil Weiser said the grand jury investigation will be "thorough and guided by the facts and the law."
“Over the past few months, we have made progress in the multi-agency investigation into allegations of Mesa County election equipment tampering and official misconduct. The Mesa County grand jury accepted the case on January 12 and will assist with the investigation.

“A grand jury is an investigative body comprised of impartial citizens called from the community to serve. The grand jury is a core part of our criminal justice system, and the citizens who serve take their roles very seriously. Grand jury proceedings are secret and witnesses and people under investigation are dealt with privately to ensure fairness."
Last year we learned that Peter attended. . .
Mike Lindell’s South Dakota symposium, in which they attempted unsuccessfully to show how prevalent and easy voter fraud was to commit. Griswold’s office confirmed two hard drive images were taken from voting systems — at least one of which is believed to have been taken on the evening of May 23, 2021 — two days before the “trusted build” attended by Dominion Voting Systems employees, staff with the secretary of state’s office, Peters, and Wood. . .
The FBI has been involved in the investigation since mid-August of last year to determine if any federal laws have been broken.

Heather Cox Richardson’s summation of facts in her daily commentary for yesterday is worth a read.

In this moment of struggle over voting rights in America, it is important to distinguish between voter fraud, which is vanishingly rare and has not affected the outcome of elections, and election fraud, which is coming to characterize a number of our important elections.

Voter fraud is about an individual breaking the law and is almost always caught. It is not a threat to democracy.

Election fraud means that people in power have rigged the system so that the will of the voters is overturned. When it happens, it threatens to destroy our nation.

Now, as the contours of what happened on January 6, 2021, are becoming clearer, they appear to show a number of different schemes to overturn the election through fraud. At least one of those schemes appears to have been a coordinated attempt by members of the Trump administration and sympathizers around the country to overturn our government by committing election fraud.

As early as November 6, 2020, three days after the presidential election but before it had been decided, White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, who handled communication with the president, texted with a member of Congress about appointing alternate electors in certain states. Meadows told the lawmaker: “I love it.”

Biden was declared the winner of the election on November 7, 2020. That day, Meadows received an email suggesting “the appointment of alternate slates of electors as part of a ‘direct and collateral attack’ after the election.”

On December 1, 2020, then–Attorney General William Barr undercut Trump’s claims of voter fraud by telling the Associated Press: “We have not seen fraud on a scale that could have caused a different outcome in the election.”

The true electors met in the states on Monday, December 14, 2020, and cast their ballots for Biden’s victory. Their states certified those ballots.

On the same day, on Fox & Friends, Trump advisor Stephen Miller announced that the campaign would overturn the election results and certify Trump as the winner. “As we speak today,” he said, “an alternate slate of electors in the contested states is going to vote, and we’re going to send those results up to Congress.” Ultimately, fake electors in seven states—New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada and Wisconsin—sent fake ballots to Washington. Election law experts dismissed the possibility that these fake electors could accomplish anything; the certified ballots were the true ones.

That same day, December 14, 2020, Trump announced that Attorney General William Barr was resigning. His last day at work was December 23, 2020.

Barr’s deputy, Jeffrey A. Rosen, stepped up to become the acting attorney general. Meanwhile, at the Department of Justice, the freshly appointed acting head of the civil division, Jeffrey Clark, circulated a draft letter written to officials in Georgia, dated December 28, 2020, claiming falsely that the Justice Department had “identified significant concerns that may have impacted the outcome of the election in multiple states, including the State of Georgia.” The letter attempted to make that charge seem real by calling for an investigation (a technique Republican candidates have used since 1994 to allege voter fraud when they lost elections). The letter claimed that two sets of electors had met “in Georgia and several other States… and that both sets of those ballots have been transmitted to Washington, D.C., to be opened by Vice President Pence.” The letter asked the Republican-dominated Georgia legislature to choose which set of electors was the right one after taking the alleged voter fraud into account.

Clark circulated the draft letter to Rosen and Acting Deputy Attorney General Richard Donoghue, asking them to agree to it. “I think we should get it out as soon as possible…. Personally, I see no valid downsides to sending out the letter,” he wrote. “I put it together quickly and would want to do a formal cite check before sending but I don't think we should let unnecessary moss grow on this.” Clark told them he wanted to send similar letters to “each relevant state.”

Several days later, Donoghue responded: “There is no chance that I would sign this letter or anything remotely like this.” He rejected Clark’s allegations: “The investigations that I am aware of relate to suspicions of misconduct that are of such a small scale that they simply would not impact the outcome of the Presidential Election.” Later, Rosen wrote “I confirmed again today that I am not prepared to sign such a letter.”

In early January, Clark talked to Trump, who decided to fire Rosen and put Clark into Rosen’s place as acting attorney general. The remaining leaders in the Justice Department promised to resign all together if he did any such thing, and Trump backed down.

If the states themselves could not be used to invalidate the legitimate Biden electors, though, Vice President Mike Pence could. As vice president, Pence would be responsible for counting the states’ certified ballots. Lawyer John Eastman of the conservative Claremont Institute (and former law clerk for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas) wrote a memo suggesting that Pence, “or Senate Pro Tempore Chuck Grassley, if Pence recuses himself,” could claim that “because of the ongoing disputes in the 7 States, there are no electors that can be deemed validly appointed in those States.” Rejecting them would mean there were only 454 legitimate votes, and 228 would make up a majority.

In that scenario, “there are at this point 232 votes for Trump, 222 votes for Biden,” Eastman wrote. “Pence then gavels President Trump as re-elected.”

Eastman’s memo continued: “Howls… from the Democrats…. So Pence says, fine…. Since... no candidate has achieved the necessary majority,” the matter goes to the House of Representatives, where each state gets a single vote. “Republicans currently control 26 of the state delegations…. Trump is reelected there as well.”

Eastman concluded: “The main thing… is that Pence should do this without asking for permission…. Let the other side challenge his actions in court,” where he expected the lawsuits would get thrown out because courts refuse to decide political questions.

The fly in this ointment turned out to be Pence, who, after conferring with advisors, steadfastly refused to act the part he had been assigned, a part that would have made him the leader of an insurrection and the obvious fall guy if things didn’t go as the conspirators had planned.

He also, though, refused to step aside, although there were clearly plans to make him do so. On January 5, Senator Grassley (R-IA) told a reporter that “we don’t expect Pence to be there,” and that he, Grassley, would “be presiding over the Senate.” His staff immediately walked that announcement back, saying it was a “misunderstanding.”

But Grassley’s statement reveals that the plan was widely known. Senior legal affairs reporter for Politico Kyle Cheney noted this weekend that Pence undercut those pushing him to deal with the fake electors by changing the language that explained what would be counted. The law says that the vice president must introduce all “purported” electoral votes. Pence added to the standard language that had been used for decades, saying that, according to the parliamentarian, the only votes that could be considered “regular in form and authentic” were those that had official state certification. Surely he would not have made such a change unless he felt the need to push back on those who would demand he acknowledge the fake ballots.

Frustrated by the vice president, Trump called on his followers who had planned a violent attack on the Capitol, possibly hoping to put enough pressure on Pence that he would change his mind; or to hold the lawmakers hostage until they agreed to his plan; or to slow down the process enough that the election would go to the House; or to slow it down enough that the Supreme Court, to which he had appointed three justices from whom he expected loyalty, would decide in his favor. At least four times on January 6, Trump tweeted about counting the forged ballots.

Miraculously, the plan failed, but Trump loyalists have been working ever since to make sure a repeat will not fail, passing new laws to suppress Democratic voters and take the counting of electoral votes out of the hands of nonpartisan officials and give it to Trump supporters.

This weekend, Trump told Republicans in Pennsylvania why he is focusing on races for supervisor of elections in 2022. “We have to be a lot sharper the next time when it comes to counting the vote,” he said. “There’s a famous statement: ‘Sometimes the vote counter is more important than the candidate,’ and we can’t let that ever, ever happen again. They have to get tougher and smarter.”

Voter fraud in America is vanishingly rare and has not affected the outcome of elections, and it is almost always prosecuted. But Trump loyalists used cries of voter fraud as an excuse to commit election fraud. Whether they will be prosecuted for it is an open question.

>122 Limelite: The risk/reward ration was way, way too high. Pence would suddenly become one of the few vice-presidents to be remembered, and remembered in the role of the betrayer of American democracy. And there's no way that could be upheld as a sane practice; if Trump had gotten away with it, there would be a Democratic, Republican, and probably Libertarian or Green or other Party slate of electors from every state for every presidential election.

I'm not sure it would have gotten past the House; surely one of the twenty-six states has Republican Representatives non-corrupt enough to place the elected president as president. I'm happy I didn't have to be disillusioned about that idea.

Why Did Mark Meadows Register to Vote at an Address Where He Did Not Reside?
In September, 2020, Donald Trump’s then chief of staff claimed to live in a mobile home in North Carolina.
Charles Bethea | March 6, 2022

...North Carolina’s Eleventh District until March, 2020, when he resigned the seat to become President Donald Trump’s chief of staff. Earlier that month, he sold his twenty-two-hundred-square-foot home in Sapphire. He and his wife, Debbie, also had a condo in Virginia, near Washington, D.C. But, as the summer passed and the election neared, Meadows had not yet purchased a new residence in what had been his home state. On September 19th, about three weeks before North Carolina’s voter-registration deadline for the general election, Meadows filed his paperwork. On a line that asked for his residential address—“where you physically live,” the form instructs—Meadows wrote down the address of a fourteen-by-sixty-two-foot mobile home in Scaly Mountain. He listed his move-in date for this address as the following day, September 20th.

Meadows does not own this property and never has. It is not clear that he has ever spent a single night there. (He did not respond to a request for comment.) The previous owner, who asked that we not use her name, now lives in Florida. “That was just a summer home,” she told me, when I called her up the other day. She seemed surprised to learn that the residence was listed on the Meadowses’ forms...

Debra Meadows appears to have filed three false voter forms
Glenn Kessler | 3/23/2022

“What we do know is a number of times as we have mail-in ballots, if there is not a chain of custody that goes from the voter to the ballot box, mischief can happen.”
— Then-White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, in an interview on ABC’s “This Week,” July 26, 2020

...North Carolina officials announced last week that Mark Meadows is under investigation for potential voter fraud.

The Fact Checker’s reporting shows that in 2020 (Oct 26) Debra Meadows signed three forms — a voter registration form, an absentee ballot request for her husband and the one-stop application — that warned of legal consequences if falsely completed and signed. She also cast a ballot in a 2020 primary runoff using an address that was no longer valid for voting. Mark Meadows appears only to have signed a voter registration form; he did not vote in the primary...

Conspirators in Their Own Words | By Victor Davis Hanson | March 21, 2022 | Noble left-wing ends always justify odious means, in this case projecting one’s own conspiracist efforts by smearing innocent others as conspiracists.

_____________________

"For the last five years, the Left—defined as the fusion of the mainstream media, Silicon Valley, the radical new Democratic Party, and the vestigial Hillary Clinton machine—has crafted all sorts of conspiracies to destroy their perceived conservative enemies.

"Their method has focused on one major projection: alleging conspiracy on the part of others, which is a kind of confirmation of their own conspiracies to destroy their opponents in general, and Donald Trump in particular.

"Now they have been caught admitting to such nefariousness. Apparently, they still are exuberant about their slick shamelessness and simply can’t keep quiet. Or they believe radically changed conditions, such as the implosion of the Biden Administration, prompt necessary admissions.

Hillary’s the One

"For nearly five years anyone who objected that the partisan Christopher Steele and his 'dossier' were fraudulent, that Glenn Simpson’s Fusion GPS was a paid opposition hit team, and their joint birthing of 'Trump-Russia collusion' was a myth, was smeared as a denialist or conspiracist.

"But examine what has transpired since 2016. Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s 22-month investigation found nothing. Mueller in congressional testimony was either addled or disingenuous. He even claimed he knew nothing of Fusion GPS or the dossier, the twin catalysts for his own investigation.

"The more Mueller meandered, the more it was clear that his henchman, partisan lawyer Andrew Weissmann, had hijacked the left-wing 'All-Star' and 'Dream Team' of lawyers and was running the charade. The more the Left boasted of the legal eagles set to tear apart Trump, the more glaring their failure to find any such evidence supporting their conspiracies.

"Christopher Steele, once the object of left-wing adulation who sought to warp the 2016 election by leaking his smears, is now a pariah. Indeed, he is relegated to the clown-like status of a Michael Avenatti. Steele has testified to what we already knew: He has no notes or sources to substantiate his ludicrous file.

"One of his two 'Russian sources' turned out to be a left-wing minor researcher at the liberal Brookings Institution, Igor Danchenko. He is now under indictment for lying. The other is a former Clinton operative Charles Dolan. He now admits he has worked for the Russian government and its affiliates for years.

"So ponder that creepy circular firing squad: Hillary Clinton paid for Christopher Steele to find dirt on Donald Trump. She hid her checks by using the firewalls of the Democratic National Committee, the Perkins Coie law firm, and Fusion GPS."

Brian Young, a Republican representing District 3, faces two felony counts of voting outside precinct and one count each of theft, perjury, and official misconduct. Republican Young claimed an address within his district when in fact he lived outside his district at another address. You'd think the politician would know enough about election law to re-register under his correct address. Probably he did and that's why he chose not to, since his political aspirations were in a district he thought he could win but apparently couldn't stand living within.

Good man Young says he lived with his girlfriend who suffers from MS in order to be her caregiver, and that he received clearance from local Republican Party officials to run for office the way he wanted to. Problem is, that when questioned, those same officials deny ever having approved his plans. Not only did he campaign as an illegitimate candidate, no, that wasn't enough. He iced his cake before he had it and ate it, too. He actually voted in multiple primaries and elections outside the precinct where he actually resided.

That last raises an interesting question. . .How did he manage that, considering voter ID hoops should have prevented him from possessing two voter registration records? If he didn't present a fake voter registration card at the polls, then poll workers are either mighty careless in that precinct, of have motives to "draw the veil." Too bad that good Republican Young is sitting in Pulaski County jail as a result of his niggling ambitions, but pretty typical and indicative of his political party, if you're willing to acknowledge the facts about who is committing the most and the biggest voting and election fraud in this country -- it's "good Republicans."

DeSantis signs bill creating new Florida election police force
Fredreka Schouten | April 25, 2022

...The new law creates an Office of Election Crimes and Security within the Florida Department of State -- an agency under DeSantis' jurisdiction -- with a staff of 15 to conduct preliminary investigations of election fraud. In addition, the measure calls for DeSantis to appoint up to 10 law enforcement officers to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to investigate election crimes...

The combined program will cost $3.7 million, state Rep. Daniel Perez, a top sponsor, said during legislative debate. DeSantis initially sought nearly $6 million for a 52-member force.

...The new Florida law also increases penalties for violating Florida election laws. It makes it a felony to collect and submit more than two vote-by-mail ballots on behalf of other voters. It previously was a misdemeanor to do so. It also increases the fine from $1,000 to $50,000 on organizations that violate voter registration laws.

Cecile Scoon, the president of the League of Women Voters of Florida, called the new $50,000 fine a "direct threat" to her organization.

...The new law also extends an existing ban on private donations to include "the cost of any litigation related to election administration." Critics say that will cut off free legal assistance to election officials, who could face additional scrutiny under the new law.

Additionally, it also requires election supervisors to clean voter rolls annually rather than every two years and imposes a $1,000 fine for switching voters' party registration without their consent. That provision responds to recent reports in South Florida that some older voters had their party affiliation changed from Democrat to Republican without their knowledge...

Secretary of Defense Austin Remained in Nuclear Chain of Command During Kyiv Trip
Howard Altman, Tyler Rogoway | Apr 25, 2022

...The dangerous nature of the trip was highlighted by the bombardment of five railway stations in central and Western Ukraine that were hit by Russia within the span of an hour Monday morning, The Guardian reported.

The attacks came "just hours after" Austin and Secretary of State Antony Blinken visited Kyiv. Austin and Blinken crossed into Poland shortly before the Russian missiles struck several railway lines, Politico reported.

...The New York Times described the voyage taken by Austin and Blinken as an 11-hour train ride from just inside Ukraine’s border with Poland to Kyiv.

...“In an apparently unscripted remark Saturday afternoon during a news conference in the Ukrainian capital, Mr. Zelensky announced that Mr. Blinken and Mr. Austin would be arriving in Kyiv the next day,” the New York Times reported. “Shortly afterward, a senior defense official emerged from Mr. Austin’s quarters in the C-17’s cargo hold and somewhat sheepishly informed the three reporters accompanying the defense secretary that President Zelensky had blown the operation’s cover and the future of the trip was uncertain.”...

Trump allies breach U.S. voting systems in search of 2020 fraud ‘evidence’
ALEXANDRA ULMER and NATHAN LAYNE | April 28, 2022

...eight known attempts to gain unauthorized access to voting systems in five U.S. states since the 2020 election. All involved local Republican officeholders or party activists who have advanced Trump’s stolen-election falsehoods or conspiracy theories about rigged voting machines...

...Four experts in voting law told Reuters the extent of these balloting-data breaches is unprecedented in modern U.S. elections. The violations are especially worrying, say election officials, because they break the chain of custody over ballots and tabulating equipment. Such safeguards allow for the tracking of exactly who has handled sensitive voter data; they are essential to making elections secure and to resolving any challenges or fraud allegations.

...Such breaches can also constitute privacy invasions by exposing information about individual voters.

...The incidents examined by Reuters all took place in states that have been competitive in recent elections: Two occurred in Colorado, three in Michigan and one each in Ohio, Pennsylvania and North Carolina. At least five of the cases are under investigation by local or federal law enforcement... Four of the breaches forced election officials to decertify or replace voting equipment that was no longer secure...

Still NO EVIDENCE of Widespread of Systematic Voter Fraud 2020 Election

Here we are in May 2022 and mid-term primary fever has become pandemic among Republicans again. Observers note that the brain-eating virus that first appeared in the country's Trump area has morphed into a new variant, Same-Old, Same Old-2022, or So-So-22. As of this date, political virologists warn that the new variant is highly contagious and most likely will be responsible for many death among those who contact it.

Those most likely to contract the new variant attend MAGA-spreader events that are largely restricted to red state areas of the country, except Georgia where the MAGA-Spreader-in-Chief is just phoning in his virus. A small but possibly lethal outbreak is foreseen in MTG territory in north GA, where hive-minded zombies have also been detected in numbers, although none claim association with the popular TV series. However, they are there, waving signs that sport such messages as "Save America, Stop Communism." Political virologists are somewhat confused by this messaging, seeing that most Trump-pithed peoples are proponents of the viral "Better Red Than Dead" phenomenon that has swept through their ranks. Further, these same political investigators and observers are unable to find any evidence of communism in this country, which leaves the electorate entirely gob-smacked, trying to decipher what Republicans can mean whenever they spout off.

Anyway, America may be saved from such madness as a majority seem to have developed a heightened immunity to the Big Lie and have grown weary of masking up to escape its effects, no matter the variant. They have repeatedly asked the infected to show evidence of the virus that plagues the stolen election segment of the population only to be met with blank stares and a wave of bad breath from mouth-breathing consumers of Orange Boogeyman bootlic (a member of the garlic family). Fortunately, President Biden's free anti-virus vaccination campaign, $1.2B infrastructure package, and policies stimulating full employment (to name a few of his achievements in his first year) have led to strong popular viral resistance, as well as economic recovery. So, one hopes the stench still emanating from the rotting elephant corpse will continue to be dispersed with common f*cking sense being exercised at the polls, rendering the Big Lie a mythical chimera of the past.

New DHS IG report finds that the DHS' intel division modified a report on Russian interference in the 2020 election to blunt the impact of its finding that Russia was aiding Trump, and that acting Sec Chad Wolf ordered it frozen b/c it would "hurt POTUS."

Republicans In Michigan Have Replaced Election Officials Who Certified Biden's Win
May 4, 2022

Bipartisan members who serve on state and county boards of canvassers in Michigan have an important job: certifying the results of elections, making them official.

In 2020, Former President Trump and his allies urged them not to certify as part of his campaign to undermine and overturn the presidential election, even though Joe Biden won Michigan by more than 154,000 votes.

Since then, local GOP leaders have replaced many of the canvassers who upheld their oaths and voted to certify the results for Biden — even canvassers who are members of their own party. ...

Is it a coincidence that all are GOP attempts?

Exclusive: Michigan widens probe into voting system breaches by Trump allies
Nathan Layne and Peter Eisler | Mon, June 6, 2022

...Many of the breaches have been inspired in part by the false assertion that state-ordered voting-system upgrades or maintenance would erase evidence of alleged voting fraud in 2020. State election officials, including those in Michigan, say those processes have no impact on the preservation of data from past elections...

Michigan: inquiry urged into claims of Republican-led voting-machine breach
Edward Helmore in New York | Mon 8 Aug 2022

Michigan’s attorney general has called for a special prosecutor to investigate allegations of a Republican-led effort to gain unauthorized access to voting equipment in the aftermath of the 2020 national election.

Attorney general Dana Nessel, a Democrat, called for the investigation on Friday after Michigan state police examined whether Matt DePerno, a lawyer and presumptive Republican candidate for the office, may have orchestrated the alleged effort.

It came after reports that Donald Trump supporters persuaded clerks to give them access to the voting machines in an effort to prove that fraud cost the former president a second term. Such claims of a fraudulent election have been repeatedly shown to be false...

"The Durham Indictment Fuels the Real Russia Hoax" (Sept 2021)

Following special counsel John Durham’s indictment last week of Democratic lawyer Michael Sussmann for allegedly lying to an FBI official {about not having a client despite a billing record from his office that suggests he did}, a host of Trump cultists and Trump-Russia scandal denialists have hyperbolically suggested that this single charge proves Donald Trump’s false claim that Russiagate was a hoax whipped up by his political foes, the media, and (of course) the Deep State.{...}

Let’s put aside the question of guilt and do the math. It’s a confirmed fact that the FBI initiated its Russia investigation on July 31, 2016. The Sussmann-Baker meeting happened months later. It had nothing to do with the start of the probe. Moreover, the issue at hand—this unusual internet communication between servers at a Russian bank and a business related to Trump—was never a key part of the Russia investigation. The FBI found no evidence of a covert link between Trump and this Russian bank. Special Counsel Robert Mueller didn’t mention it in his final report. This ended up being an irrelevant piece of the Russian investigation.{...}

Trump and his cultists have deployed disinformation, deception, and distraction to undermine an investigation that clearly showed his betrayal of American democracy. This latest episode is just another round in the Trumpers’ ceaseless war on the truth.

U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham did not show up to his scheduled appearance on Wednesday at the Fulton County courthouse.

Sen. Lindsey Graham agrees to accept subpoena in Trump election meddling case
Kevin Breuninger, Dan Mangan | Jul 19 2022

Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina will accept a subpoena for his testimony issued by a Georgia grand jury investigating possible election meddling in the 2020 presidential election by then-President Donald Trump.

But Graham may still challenge the subpoena in court, a court filing showed.

The Republican lawmaker, one of Trump’s closest confidants in the Senate, had asked a federal judge in South Carolina last week to quash the subpoena...

The subpoena issued to Graham said he made at least two calls to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and his staff, asking about “reexamining certain absentee ballots cast in Georgia in order to explore the possibility of a more favorable outcome for former President Donald Trump.”...

Judge: Sen. Graham must testify in Georgia election probe
KATE BRUMBACK | 15 Aug 2022

A federal judge on Monday said U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham must testify before a special grand jury in Atlanta that is investigating whether then-President Donald Trump and his allies broke any laws while trying to overturn his narrow 2020 general election loss in the state.

Attorneys for Graham, R-S.C., had argued that his position as a U.S. senator provided him immunity from having to appear before the investigative panel and asked the judge to quash his subpoena. But U.S. District Judge Leigh Martin May wrote in an order Monday that immunities related to his role as a senator do not protect him from having to testify. Graham’s subpoena instructs him to appear before the special grand jury on Aug. 23, but his office said Monday he plans to appeal to the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals...

Washington Post says in an exclusive that "Trump-allied lawyers pursued voting machine data in multiple states".

The lawyers directed the Atlanta-based data firm SullivanStrickler to copy information from local election systems within Georgia, Michigan, and Nevada.

"While the data firm's examinations were allowed by courts in two counties, according to the Post, the efforts were not public and state authorities have open investigations into improper equipment breaches in Michigan and Georgia," explains CNN.

The election data that was copied is also being sent to FBI for review, according to Raw Media.

Twitter & Dems Lied Through Teeth About Censorship | Jonathan Turley, NY Post

Yet the license for this massive system clearly came from Twitter’s very top. Shadow banning and “visibility filtering” are consistent with the policies of ex-CEO Parag Agrawal, who pledged the company would “focus less on thinking about free speech” because “speech is easy on the internet. Most people can speak. Where our role is particularly emphasized is who can be heard.”

So we now know that Twitter was not only banning dissenting voices on subjects ranging from COVID to climate change but was throttling or suppressing the traffic for disfavored writers.
