Of course, posts should be restricted to citations from credible and reliable sources and posts that either are unsourced, or sourced from political propaganda organs, unsourced Twitter tweets, and baseless accusations, etc. -- like Trump's crap claim in Tuesday night's debate about "they dumped lots of ballots in the river" -- should not.

Notorious GOP operatives charged with felonies for trying to trick people out of mail-in voting in Michigan. AG Nessel Files Felony Charges Against Jack Burkman, Jacob Wohl in Voter-Suppression Robocalls Investigation LANSING – Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel has filed charges today against two political operatives for allegedly orchestrating a series of robocalls aimed at suppressing the vote in the November general election.

Jack Burkman, 54, and Jacob Wohl, 22, are each charged with:

One count of election law – intimidating voters, a five-year felony;
One count of conspiracy to commit an election law violation, a five-year felony;
One count of using a computer to commit the crime of election law – intimidating voters, a seven-year felony; and
Using a computer to commit the crime of conspiracy, a seven-year felony.

Burkman, an Arlington, Virginia resident, and Wohl, a Los Angeles, California resident, allegedly attempted to discourage voters from participating in the general election by creating and funding a robocall targeted at certain urban areas, including Detroit. The calls were made in late August and went out to nearly 12,000 residents with phone numbers from the 313 area code.

The recorded robocall message warns people about being “finessed into giving your private information to the man” and urges them to “beware of vote by mail.”

The caller, who claims to be associated with an organization founded by Burkman and Wohl, falsely tells people that mail-in voting, in particular, will allow personal information to become part of a special database used by police to track down old warrants and by credit card companies to collect outstanding debts. The caller also deceptively claims the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will use the information to track people for mandatory vaccines. However, none of that is true.

CA GOP Operatives Install Bogus Ballot Boxes Prompts State's AG, Xavier Becerra, to Send Cease and Desist Letter to State GOP

Republican party operations in Fresno, Los Angeles, and Orange County were busted for bamboozling voters with phony ballot drop boxes, which is totally a felony.
. . .collection boxes have been spotted at local political party offices, candidate headquarters. . .State GOP spokesman Hector Barajas said Monday the party owns the boxes. He declined to say how many exist or where they are located.

Unofficial ballot boxes discovered at Calif. gun shops, churches, Republican offices.

Secretary of State Alex Padilla said in a statement the boxes are not only misleading to voters but illegal. . .a list of "secure" ballot boxes posted by the Fresno County Republic Party are all unofficial, including ones listed at its own headquarters.

In the California voter information guides for each county is a list of locations of official boxes. I would optimistically hope that all voters avail themselves of this excellent assistance to avoid falling for such a devious ploy. Shame, Republicans, shame!

If you don't respect legitimate election-outcomes, you have no place--except that of a rank hypocrite-- to moan about voter fraud: You're the people whose "Get Out the Vote" program consists of advocating and defending the importation of illegal aliens to the United States: the better to enable these illegals to vote in favor of amnesties for scoff-laws and the relax rules of entry and residence.

Trump Supporter Arrested For Requesting Absentee Ballot For Dead Mother

The president accuses Democrats of “voter fraud,” but one of his supporters became the first person in a Pennsylvania county charged with the crime in 30 years.

A Luzerne County man is facing voter fraud charges Wednesday night. Investigators say he signed the name of his deceased mother to an absentee ballot application.

Luzerne County election officials say they notified the District Attorney’s office. Election officials say this is an example of how the system worked, how alleged fraud was spotted, and stopped.

67-year-old Robert Richard Lynn from Forty Fort (was arrested) on voter fraud and forgery charges. According to Luzerne County detectives, Lynn admitted to signing the name of his mother to an application for an absentee ballot. The problem is she died in May of 2015.

President Donald Trump’s campaign representatives have been filming voters in Philadelphia dropping off their ballots, but the Pennsylvania attorney general warned the Republican surrogates to stop Thursday. In a statement, Josh Shapiro, the Democratic state attorney general, said, “Pennsylvania law permits poll watchers to carry out very discrete and specific duties — videotaping voters at drop boxes is not one of them.”

Pennsylvania polling place fell under a full out attack on those standing in line to vote and trying to cast a ballot on Saturday. Voter intimidation and Election interference is Election Fraud.

Declares late as a Republican after. . .

Rivers previously registered with the Democratic Party three days before the election qualifying deadline, included a signed personal check for $750 made out to the Chatham County Democratic Party — from The Committee to Elect (Larry) "Gator" Rivers. The word “registration” appeared in the check’s memo line.

Republicans had waited and waited to file their complaint against Democrat Tony Riley (who would have been "Gator's opponent) for being unqualified. Riley was disqualified just before Rivers "flipped," on Oct. 27th. Democratic Party Chairman challenged "Gator's" qualifications in a letter.

". . Mr. Rivers has a history with multiple felonies inside and outside the state of Georgia. He has also been banned from places throughout the United States. Has the Chatham County Board of Elections researched this matter?”

For people who wonder why there's so much right-wing energy around "vote fraud," (a virtually nonexistent phenomenon) should glean a lesson from Southern history. During the rise of Jim Crow, it was necessary to disfranchise Black voters in the South./1

In order to do this, they came up with the argument that Black voters were poor and ignorant and were either bribed or duped to vote as a bloc against their "true friends."/2

This came to be called "fraudulent" voting--the idea being that no genuine choice was being made. At one point in the South during Civil Rights, a county judge convened a grand jury to haul Black people in and demand to know why they all voted for the same candidate./3

If that has a familiar ring, remember that as a US Attorney Jeff Sessions had elderly black voters arrested and brought before a grand jury to explain why their registrations *weren't* "fraudulent."/4

I knew Jesse Helms and he was not self-conscious about assuming that votes in Durham County (high Black population) were "fraudulent."/5

So the attempt to shut down counting in Detroit isn't really useful for Trump to _win_ (he's already ahead) but to create a legend that votes in Detroit (hmm, what's special about Detroit?) were "stolen" and that's why he lost./6

Note the absence from our right wing correspondents, now that all available documented evidence of election fraud show Republicans breaking the law/rules.

The "historical roots" of voter fraud are few and shallow and all grow in the dirt where the Republican Party is planted. Ever since that conspiracy theory began life.

In PA, the ONLY case of voter fraud seen in any election there this year for which the government has seen EVIDENCE is the case of the Republican Ijit who applied for an absentee ballot for his DEAD mother.

In this election NATIONWIDE, the ONLY case of voter fraud for which the government has evidence was perpetrated by TRUMP when he called on NC voters to vote TWICE.

Lindsey Graham Commits ACTUAL Election Fraud

Georgia’s Republican secretary of state, Brad Raffensperger, revealed in an interview that Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) pressured him to toss thousands of valid ballots — and even suggested blocking entire counties from having their mail-in ballots counted.

As Sec'y. of State and supervisor of the legal conduct of elections, he ought to know when he sees a "duck." Why else would a senator from SC who happens to be Trump's biggest a$$ kisser call a state level government official in Georgia and talk about possibilities of changing election outcomes, if he didn't want that official to do something to make the outcome of the 2020 election changed to be favorable to the a$$ he always kisses?

I can find no historical record that Lady Lindsey ever called to try to get Republican Gov. Brian Kemp, then the Sec'y. of State in control of that very election, to stop suppressing the vote and committing the election fraud he was engaged in that gave him the win. That didn't turn a hair on his carefully sprayed head.

The degree of groveling sycophancy of Lindsey Graham is pretty stunning. He's outdone everybody. He will do anything to win the approval of Donald Trump. He literally kisses the ground that Donald walks upon. He'd shine Donald's shoes if Donald asked him to.

What happened to him? Lordy, Poutine must have tapes?

It's interesting this signature argument. My signature looks nothing like it did 30 years ago and when I see it in their voting registrar--yeah I recognize it but my ability to reproduce it is gone. Today's signature is pretty much a real scrawl that really has its roots in signing shit because of credit cards instead of paying for everything in cash like I did for a long time. I would think I'm not the only one. You look at elderly people then-- or people who have developed Parkinson's in some form. The mail is a lifeline for a lot of elderly and working for the Post Office you'd have to often help older people make their addresses readable. Should they have their voting rights taken away because their signatures don't match from 40/50/60 years ago?

Donald wants to discredit everything and sow as much chaos as possible. This guy has never cared an iota about this country really or the people living in it. His day is coming up--it's unfortunate that it's still two months away.

Anyone who has ever put together a will and testament can tell you one of the things the good lawyer does is get you to sign multiple things in their presence so they have multiple examples of your signature - no two are the same.

If you are still one of those people who writes checks ( I am) just look at the signature differences over the course of check writing for a single month - there's no way they look the same and, depending on how rushed you might have been to get a nearly late payment out, the signature differences can be very large.

No Court Has Found a Single Case of Election Fraud

Trump backers have dropped cases in four courts in the last 48 days, knowing they have no evidence; or knowing their "whistle-blower" claimants have lied; or knowing that their witnesses will lie on the stand.

While no American holds that a loser does NOT have the right to challenge voter results when and if they have evidence to support that contention, it should not be tolerated by ANY American to support actively or with their critical silence all legal challenges WITHOUT ANY evidence to support conspiracy theories that are lies.

No one claimed the $1 million that the Lt Governor of Texas offered for evidence.

PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. — A Florida attorney is at the center of a new state investigation after elections officials say he recently attempted to register to vote in Georgia and instructed other Florida Republicans on how to do it .

...Price told the group he’s moving to his brother’s address in Hiram, Georgia in order to register to vote in the January runoff. He repeats and spells and his brother’s name and address, as members of the group jot it down. They can be heard mumbling the address in the background while some write.

“We can truly register at that address?” one woman asks.

“Sure,” Price answers, adding they have to plan to show a move, suggesting they have mail sent there.

“And can it be anywhere in the state of Georgia you can register?” another woman asks. “So if you’ve got cousins, dogs, cats that live somewhere else, it doesn’t need to be one particular county?”

...Channel 2 confirmed Price registered to vote the day after he made the speech, using his brother’s Hiram address and swearing to an affidavit that he was a Georgia resident and eligible to vote.

...Georgia’s Deputy Secretary of State Jordan Fuchs confirmed the office would be exploring the felony charges tied to fraudulent voter registration in Georgia.

For weeks Georgia officials have warned that registering to vote with no attempt to stay in Georgia can be punishable by a felony charge that can carry up to a ten-year sentence , and $100,000 fine...

Sanctions for Trump Lawyers' 'Baseless Lawsuits'?

All 50 states and the District of Columbia have legal ethics rules for lawyers that are derived from standards published by the American Bar Association.

One ABA rule says that lawyers should only assert a claim in court if “there is a basis in law and fact for doing so that is not frivolous.”

Separately, there are rules prohibiting lawyers from making false statements to third parties and engaging in deceitful conduct.

Judges can punish lawyers who violate ethics rules in a particular case by ordering them to pay the winning party’s legal fees.

Judges can also impose milder sanctions such as striking a misleading document from the court record.

These case-specific punishments are sometimes known as “Rule 11 sanctions” in federal court.

Some people vote by mail and die before Election Day. Voter lists may only be updated once a month and thus, those people have their vote counted.

In other states, it's actually the law that allows people who have received a ballot and return the ballot, then die--that vote will be counted.

Of course voters can cast a fully legal ballot and then die. Hell, they can--as some surely have done--do so live and in person at their polling-place.

Does, ought, their ballot count? Well of course it counts! They were alive when they cast it, they were legitimately entitled to cast a ballot. They did. Then, minutes, hours, days or weeks later they died. They came, they voted, they died. All such votes do and ought to count.

What doesn't and oughtn't "count" is a ballot cast fraudulently in the name of a person already dead at the time the ballot was marked, cast, mailed-in or otherwise delivered to the proper authorities.

Those are the kind of ballots to which we're objecting! HINT: they are these ballots which are per se fraudulent and illegal and there is no rationale by which they could "become" valid, legitimate. “Donald Trump has tried to spread chaos and disinformation about voter fraud for years and he’s never come up with any evidence,” Voter Project spokesperson Mike Mikus said in a statement. “A byproduct of his misinformation is that nearly every instance of voter fraud in recent years has been Trump’s own supporters because they believe his incessant lying.”

I was a poll worker in Florida for early voting and Election Day. We had several trumpsters trying to vote twice and were shocked when we knew we had already voted. They could have gotten arrested. Not a single dem tried this crap.

Republican Candidate Arrested on Voter Fraud Charges

Republican Frederick Gattuso, 43, who ran against Democratic Mayor Daniel Reiman of Cataret, NJ, in 2018, voted twice by mail using the registration of two people with similar names, officials said. He was arrested and charged with third-degree fraudulent voting.

This lovely character had accused the incumbent of being a sexual predator, thief and drunk driver. Reiman filed defamation lawsuits against Gattuso and three others as a result.

"We exposed his criminal history, his racist and bigoted comments when he ran against me in 2018 so it’s really no surprise that his criminal conduct would continue," Reiman said in response to the voter fraud charge against his nemesis.

"The local Republican leaders should condemn voter fraud and these illegal tactics, but as they endorsed him to run for mayor I can’t help but think that this latest stunt was the idea of some of the the same individuals and maybe more wide spread."

Trump "Stop the Steal" Attorney, Lin Wood, Under Investigation for VOTER FRAUD

The state of Georgia is looking into suspicious acts, comments, and probably deeds that Lin "Batshit Crazy" Wood voted twice. . . .the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office has launched an investigation into whether Wood was eligible to vote in Georgia, whether he broke the law by casting his ballot and whether he was actually a Georgia resident.

Sources at the secretary of state’s office say an email that Wood sent to (the reporter) caused them to launch an official investigation.

In the email, Wood confirmed he moved to South Carolina, writing “I have been domiciled in South Carolina for several months after purchasing property in the state in April.”

Now state election investigators are looking into whether that means Wood legally should not have been able to vote in the November election.

They cite a section of Georgia code that reads, “If a person removes to another state with the intention of making it such person’s residence, such person shall be considered to have lost such person’s residence in this state.”

Lie, Cheat, and Steal is probably the name of his law firm. Of course, Wood is full of self-righteous indignation.

Wood sent a statement to (the reporter) late Tuesday evening, saying:

“I have been a resident of the State of Georgia since 1955. I changed my residency to South Carolina yesterday.

“This is pure harassment by the Georgia Secretary of State because I have revealed credible evidence of election fraud on the part of Brad Raffensperger.”

Wood did say that he did not vote in the January runoff because he said it was a not a legitimate election.

Pure voter fraud where GA and FL, and I assume several other states are concerned. Domicile is a term both GA and FL, and probably other states allow, in special circumstances, to military and college students to retain voting rights in their state and precinct of choice while forced by circumstances to no longer reside there through no fault of their own.

Reasonable expectation is that the investigation will lead to criminal charges. Should US Senators refuse to do their duty and convict Trump of the House's Impeachment article, Georgia may promise to grind Trump slowly and finely within its own state election law. That will likely lead to him being a defendant with more than the threat of being unable to hold public office ever again. The investigation is about the content of the calls. Former FL Republican State Senator Arrested on Felony Election Fraud

Once again its the Republicans who cheat on elections -- and get caught. Frank Artiles, the Republican political operative suspected of secretly arranging a sham candidate to run in a key 2020 state senate race, surrendered to a Miami-Dade County jail on Thursday to face felony campaign finance charges.

Artiles is facing several charges, including felony charges for making illegal contributions and false swearing in connection to the election, according to a copy of the arrest warrant. Prosecutors say Artiles offered Alexis (Alex) Pedro Rodriguez $50,000 to run in the race to “siphon votes from the incumbent,” Democrat Jose Javier Rodriguez. Half was to be paid during the election and the rest after the election, Alex Rodriguez told prosecutors.

The warrant states that the actual amount paid by Artiles to Alex Rodriguez before and after the election totaled $44,708.03.

...(Alexis Pedroz) Rodriguez, a machine-parts dealer who had been struggling financially, agreed to help (State Senator Frank Artiles, a Republican), who promised him $50,000 in return. He switched from Republican to no party affiliation and qualified for the ballot as Alex Rodriguez. He did not disclose that he actually lived far from the district, in Boca Raton, or that the money for his candidacy came from Mr. Artiles.

In November, State Senator José Javier Rodríguez, an effective legislator who had crusaded for Florida to face the climate change crisis, lost to the Republican challenger, Ileana Garcia, by a mere 32 votes out of more than 215,000 that had been cast. Alex Rodriguez had received 6,382 votes and played the spoiler.

It was a devastating loss for Florida Democrats in a year of Republican successes in the state. It was also the result of criminal behavior, prosecutors say.

On Thursday, Mr. Artiles, 47, and Mr. Rodriguez, 55, turned themselves in for arrest. They were each charged with three third-degree felony charges related to violating campaign finance law, including for conspiracy to make campaign contributions in excess of legal limits, making those excess contributions and false swearing in connection to an election...

Last week’s action — State Attorney Kathy Fernandez-Rundle in Miami announced charges against Artiles and Alex Rodriguez, a candidate who ran for a South Florida state senate seat. Artiles is accused of paying Alex Rodriguez to run as a no-party affiliated candidate against then-state Sen. Jose Javier Rodriguez to siphon away votes in the election. Artiles alleged scheme likely helped flip the seat to Republicans.

3 races targeted — POLITICO has previously reported that political committees funded by Proclivity, a mystery donor, pumped hundreds of thousands of dollars into mailers to boost the candidacies of no-party affiliated candidates that did not campaign. The three races targeted, two in Miami and one in Seminole County, were the focus of intense campaigns funded by leadership from both parties. In each case, Republicans won and the mail pieces featured messaging generally used to target Democratic voters. Money apparently flowed in from an out-of-state UPS box.

From the letter... “Based on the suspicious practices outlined in this letter, including the likelihood of several potential illegal interstate transfers of funds, we strongly believe that much greater scrutiny of this matter at the federal level is warranted. There are important unanswered questions regarding the original source of the money to fund this scheme, and whether the entity that provided the funding was in violation of any federal campaign finance laws or Internal Revenue Service codes. It is also a pressing public concern as to whether any fraud occurred in furtherance of a federal criminal conspiracy designed to influence the outcome of one or more elections.”

Former Alaska Rep. LeDoux, REPUBLICAN, Faces New Charges of Felony Voter Fraud

Both LeDoux and her aide, Lisa Simpson, are charged with four and two new counts, respectively, by state prosecutors who are trying to get Simpson to cooperate against her former boss.

The charges pertain to LeDoux's 2018 re-election campaign.

The charges against LeDoux came after state elections officials notified the Alaska State Troopers of what they described as irregularities with absentee ballot applications during her 2018 re-election campaign. The FBI also participated in the investigation.

Simpson’s son Caden is also being charged with voter misconduct. He’s represented by a public defender, according to a state courts database.

Credible Investigation into Voting Machine Tampering in Colorado. . .

. . .and it's not being initiated by Donald Trump's allies. It's worse than that. The Mesa County Clerk and Recorder's Office is under investigation by the Colorado Secretary of State's Office for a breach in security over its election system.

Secretary of State Jena Griswold released an order. . . calling on Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters to supply surveillance videos and documents showing how the breach occurred, and how security information ended up on a social media post.

If Peters can't show proper chain of custody for that security information, which involves certain passwords that are eyes-only for state and county election workers who have passed background checks, all of the county's election systems could be immediately decertified, meaning the county would be on the hook for an expensive refit of all of its machines.

Tina Peters is fervent Trump supporter "who appears to have executed a self-own of historic proportion."

Last week, QAnon conspiracists shared a video claiming a "whistleblower" provided alleged evidence that Dominion voting machines are connected to the internet. . .

In the video, the alleged whistleblower included an image of their election system's BIOS password, and in doing so "they stepped on a pretty large rake – because the password in the video was unique, which allowed the Colorado Secretary of State's office to identify which county the leak came from and during which meeting it was recorded. . .

NEW: Dominion Voting Suing OAN Reporters for Defamation

Not content with hammering Donald Trump's lawyers and Fox News, and Newsmax Dominion filed a new (but long-awaited) lawsuit against right wing nut media outlet, OAN, seeking more than $1.6 billion in damages. Named defendants in the lawsuit are reporters Chanel Rion and Christina Bobb, along with former Overstock CEO Patrick Byrne.

"During and after the November 2020 election, OAN saw a business opportunity," the suit alleges. Remember our old friend Tina Peters, right wing nut job clerk in CO? Here's the update to the investigation in her alleged voting machine scandal. That person allegedly leaked the passwords, which he photographed while the machines were being serviced, to an Intenet conspiracy activist, who made them public. The upshot? All the voting machines under Peters' supervision (Mesa County) have to be replaced. Nice post-election coup for Dominion. For justice to be served, IMO, Peters needs to pay "Paul" for their cost.

The secretary of state’s office believes Tina Peters, Mesa County’s Republican clerk and recorder, allowed an unauthorized person who was not an employee to attend the trusted build. The individual, identified as Gerald Wood, took photos of election system passwords, which were later posted on the website of a conspiracy theorist. . .

(Also). . .video surveillance cameras at the clerk’s office appear to have been turned off before the build, and they were not turned back on until this month.

Even the Republican head of the state association of county clerks is outraged by Peters' blatant actions to subvert automated voting counts.

“The county clerk has not communicated at all with us,” despite an order to comply with inspection and requests for information, Griswold said Thursday. Instead, Peters appeared Tuesday at a “cyber symposium” hosted by MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, where she accused the secretary of state of “raiding her office.”

An investigator with 21st Judicial District Attorney Dan Rubinstein’s office is also looking into related potential criminal conduct, Rubinstein confirmed in an email to Newsline. That investigation is separate from the secretary of state’s probe.

“I was told that they believed that there were potential criminal matters which would be referred to my office for prosecution,” Rubinstein said in the email. “Per state law, the District Attorney’s Office is responsible for investigating and prosecuting election related criminal activity.

Tina Peters is a hot mess, and this latest bit of skullduggery is not her first rodeo.

In February of 2020, election workers discovered 574 uncounted Mesa County ballots from the previous election. Peters reportedly attributed the issue to “human error” and called the discovery “disappointing” and “sad.”

Peters later survived a recall attempt when a group seeking her ouster did not collect enough petition signatures by the deadline.

A person appointed by the Mesa County Board of Commissioners to oversee the recall, and make sure the county’s June 2020 election did not experience problems, described Peters as “distrusting, frequently rude and antagonistic” in a 2020 report to the secretary of state.

(Local newspaper investigation revealed that). . .Peters had altered job titles to get more personnel in the positions she wanted — even though three Republican Mesa County commissioners had rejected her request for more elections staff.

Florida Republican Fake Candidate Pleads Guilty

Recruited by a former Republican state senator to run against the incumbent Democratic candidate with a similar name, Alexis "Alex" Rodriguez takes plea deal in vote siphoning scheme that caused long time South Florida representative Alex Rodriguez (D-37) to lose by 32 votes. He was paid more than $40,000 by former Republican state Sen. Frank Artiles who recruited him and hatched the election fraud scheme. Rodriguez

pleaded guilty to two felony charges: conspiracy to accept or make campaign contributions in excess of legal limits and accepting and making those excess campaign contributions.

He was previously facing four felony charges and up to 20 years in prison.

That's a light sentence for a convicted felon. One wonders if he will have his personal voting rights restored in a state that under Republican control purged thousands of former felons from the voting rolls, believing they would vote for the Democrats who supported the restoration of full civil rights after they served their sentences.

They've found the smoking gun in the 2013 political campaign of Pam Bondi who ran for FL Atty Gen'l. when the state was in the middle of criminal investigation into Trump University and she received a $25,000 political campaign from Trump's charitable foundation. Reams have been written about the suspicious nature of the timing of that contribution. "The donation occurred just as Bondi was supposed to be considering joining New York’s investigation of the Trump University scam."

We knew that Trump signed the check. Here's what we couldn't prove until now, thanks to The Daily Beast investigative reporting.

"Comatose Alan" must have been too incompetent to keep his job. Look where he is today.

Here's the email sent from Bondi's campaign finance director (Aleksander) to Trump's executive assistant (Goff).

Thanks again for always being so responsive and wonderful to work with.” Aleksander wrote to Graff. “Let Mr. Trump know that we are SO VERY thankful for his commitment of 25k and If he wants to make it 50k, that’s perfectly acceptable. :) Seriously, thanks again for everything!!!

And that, ladies and gentleman is how you intentionally commit election fraud with illegal political donations, or how you commit bribery in order to extort influence on a criminal investigation to make it go away.

Judge sanctions pro-Trump lawyers who brought 'frivolous' election fraud lawsuits (CNN)

CO Election Fraud Case Spreads To Deputy Clerk

With Mesa County Clerk, Tina Peters, in hiding, courtesy of Pillow Guy's obstruction of justice, investigators' attention is addressing possibility of a new suspect also obstructing justice by pressuring county clerk employees not to cooperate with a "joint local, state and federal criminal investigation into an election system security breach discovered last month."

Deputy clerk Belinda Knisley of the Mesa County Clerk and Recorders office has been placed on paid administrative leave due to a "confidential personnel matter," CNN previously reported. A source in the Mesa County government tells CNN that the "confidential personnel matter" refers to an open county human resources investigation in which Knisley is accused of pressuring fellow clerk employees -- her subordinates -- not to cooperate with the criminal investigation into the breach.

Knisley was arrested on Wednesday, charged with felony burglary and misdemeanor cyber crime. As part of her bail conditions, Knisley agreed to have no contact with any clerk employees.

(She is accused of). . . allegedly creating a hostile work environment for clerk employees, she had been in contact with the employees, "in a manner that is intimidating to them, despite the pending investigation and her leave." But prosecutors said that she had since assured her counsel that she would have no contact with the employees.

This follows on the heels of Knisley's previous conduct and involvement in the Trump supporting Peters' election fraud. Both women are now suspected of criminal conduct.

Court documents filed by the district attorney allege she (Knisley) went to the Mesa County Clerk's office on August 25, despite being told not to be on the premises because of an active HR investigation in which she "engaged in inappropriate, unprofessional conduct in the workplace." While at the office on August 25, court documents allege that she used Peters' logins to access the county computer system and attempt to print documents.

Knisley had already been in hot water with the Colorado secretary of state over the security breach. . .(who) revoked Knisley's election supervisory duties because of it, alleging that Knisley helped facilitate the breach by misrepresented (sic) a non-employee's role and employment status at a software update of election equipment event in May.

Knisley's legal problems have grown out of the expanding investigation into criminal conduct by her boss that now includes local, state, and federal agencies.

The criminal investigation into the clerk's office began after Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold, a Democrat, accused Republican Mesa County Clerk and Recorder Tina Peters -- as well as the office itself -- of facilitating a security breach in May. The breach resulted in confidential voting machine logins, and forensic images of their hard drives, being published in a QAnon-affiliated Telegram channel in early August.

The district attorney launched the investigation last month, and it's since been joined by the Colorado Attorney General and FBI.

This is perverse reasoning since the whole trouble and the point of the election-fraud allegations is that they involved not so much individual voters' acts of fraud as the fraudulent acts of election officials themselves at many voting stations. It's this fraud and the concern for it which makes a mockery of the stupid "finding" that "there isn’t much, if any, evidence that these voters did anything intentionally wrong."

You seem to be assuming a lot here, most particularly that eliminating these ballots would change the result. This is tantamount to assuming that the problematic ballots are so overwhelmingly biased towards Biden that eliminating them would make a difference. Statistically, seems pretty unlikely.

Facebook pages that appear to belong to Ketcik and Halstead contain several posts expressing support for former president Donald Trump.

But that didn't stop them from voting again in other states by absentee ballot, as well as in Florida, too. It doesn't matter how may states you're registered to vote in, you can only vote in one. These affluent folks who maintain domiciles in two states, feel eligible for at least two votes. I guess they're attitude is, "I pay taxes there, too, so I'm entitled to vote twice!"

Late last year, three residents of the community faced charges of voter fraud fr voting in two different stats in the same election. Today, Villages resident,Charles Franklin Barnes, 64, was arrested and charged with fraud for casting more than one ballot during an election, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

For some, retirement leaves them with too much time on their hands, and apparently they have to turn to the devil's work to keep from being bored. But the angels of certain people's nature are watching. An anonymous tipster busted the original three and Barnes, according to reports.

In early May, a self-described “citizen election integrity analyst” sent an anonymous email addressed to elections officials in Michigan and Florida’s Division of Elections, which is overseen by Secretary of State Laurel Lee.

“Hello Florida and Michigan!” the email stated. “I was looking at voter data between your two states and I noticed a couple records that seem similar.”

The email, sent by someone with the username “Totes Legit Votes,” listed the names and addresses of more than a dozen voters registered in both Florida and Michigan who appeared to have multiple ballots cast under their names in the 2020 election.

“I obtained voter rolls from states I was legally eligible to receive from and that would fit within my hobbyist budget of a couple hundred dollars,” the unidentified tipster told News 6 in response to questions sent to the email address printed in court records.

“I believe that if hundreds of people sign sworn affidavits that they saw election irregularities, people should at least try to check into it,” the tipster said. “You can’t claim ‘the system is working’ if random internet people have to find the violations for you”.

Teenagers, some of them minors, were paid to pump out the messages at the direction of Turning Point Action, an affiliate of Turning Point USA. At the same time, Rally Forge administered their dissemination over social media platforms in an attempt to manipulate maximum impact. Their posts were not spontaneous expression representing a groundswell of ordinary voters' opinions. They arose from a program that hired the kids as private contractors to make them, giving them incentives if their specious "opinions" garnered lots of attention. The kids were

Local Denver ABC affiliate TV station reports a grand jury will investigate allegations of official misconduct, tampering with election equipment by the pro-Trump Clerk and Recorder, Tina Peters, who let an unauthorized person, one Gerald Wood, access the voting machines. Peters made the national news in 2021 after special passwords for the county’s voting systems and other information from voting machines was leaked to a right wing website. Wood "was also present for a secure software system update."

Mesa County DA Dan Rubinstein and Colorado AG Phil Weiser said the grand jury investigation will be "thorough and guided by the facts and the law."

“Over the past few months, we have made progress in the multi-agency investigation into allegations of Mesa County election equipment tampering and official misconduct. The Mesa County grand jury accepted the case on January 12 and will assist with the investigation.

“A grand jury is an investigative body comprised of impartial citizens called from the community to serve. The grand jury is a core part of our criminal justice system, and the citizens who serve take their roles very seriously. Grand jury proceedings are secret and witnesses and people under investigation are dealt with privately to ensure fairness."

Griswold’s office confirmed two hard drive images were taken from voting systems — at least one of which is believed to have been taken on the evening of May 23, 2021 — two days before the “trusted build” attended by Dominion Voting Systems employees, staff with the secretary of state’s office, Peters, and Wood. . .

The FBI has been involved in the investigation since mid-August of last year to determine if any federal laws have been broken.

In this moment of struggle over voting rights in America, it is important to distinguish between voter fraud, which is vanishingly rare and has not affected the outcome of elections, and election fraud, which is coming to characterize a number of our important elections.

Voter fraud is about an individual breaking the law and is almost always caught. It is not a threat to democracy.

Election fraud means that people in power have rigged the system so that the will of the voters is overturned. When it happens, it threatens to destroy our nation.

Now, as the contours of what happened on January 6, 2021, are becoming clearer, they appear to show a number of different schemes to overturn the election through fraud. At least one of those schemes appears to have been a coordinated attempt by members of the Trump administration and sympathizers around the country to overturn our government by committing election fraud.

As early as November 6, 2020, three days after the presidential election but before it had been decided, White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, who handled communication with the president, texted with a member of Congress about appointing alternate electors in certain states. Meadows told the lawmaker: “I love it.”

Biden was declared the winner of the election on November 7, 2020. That day, Meadows received an email suggesting “the appointment of alternate slates of electors as part of a ‘direct and collateral attack’ after the election.”

On December 1, 2020, then–Attorney General William Barr undercut Trump’s claims of voter fraud by telling the Associated Press: “We have not seen fraud on a scale that could have caused a different outcome in the election.”

The true electors met in the states on Monday, December 14, 2020, and cast their ballots for Biden’s victory. Their states certified those ballots.

On the same day, on Fox & Friends, Trump advisor Stephen Miller announced that the campaign would overturn the election results and certify Trump as the winner. “As we speak today,” he said, “an alternate slate of electors in the contested states is going to vote, and we’re going to send those results up to Congress.” Ultimately, fake electors in seven states—New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada and Wisconsin—sent fake ballots to Washington. Election law experts dismissed the possibility that these fake electors could accomplish anything; the certified ballots were the true ones.

That same day, December 14, 2020, Trump announced that Attorney General William Barr was resigning. His last day at work was December 23, 2020.

Barr’s deputy, Jeffrey A. Rosen, stepped up to become the acting attorney general. Meanwhile, at the Department of Justice, the freshly appointed acting head of the civil division, Jeffrey Clark, circulated a draft letter written to officials in Georgia, dated December 28, 2020, claiming falsely that the Justice Department had “identified significant concerns that may have impacted the outcome of the election in multiple states, including the State of Georgia.” The letter attempted to make that charge seem real by calling for an investigation (a technique Republican candidates have used since 1994 to allege voter fraud when they lost elections). The letter claimed that two sets of electors had met “in Georgia and several other States… and that both sets of those ballots have been transmitted to Washington, D.C., to be opened by Vice President Pence.” The letter asked the Republican-dominated Georgia legislature to choose which set of electors was the right one after taking the alleged voter fraud into account.

Clark circulated the draft letter to Rosen and Acting Deputy Attorney General Richard Donoghue, asking them to agree to it. “I think we should get it out as soon as possible…. Personally, I see no valid downsides to sending out the letter,” he wrote. “I put it together quickly and would want to do a formal cite check before sending but I don't think we should let unnecessary moss grow on this.” Clark told them he wanted to send similar letters to “each relevant state.”

Several days later, Donoghue responded: “There is no chance that I would sign this letter or anything remotely like this.” He rejected Clark’s allegations: “The investigations that I am aware of relate to suspicions of misconduct that are of such a small scale that they simply would not impact the outcome of the Presidential Election.” Later, Rosen wrote “I confirmed again today that I am not prepared to sign such a letter.”

In early January, Clark talked to Trump, who decided to fire Rosen and put Clark into Rosen’s place as acting attorney general. The remaining leaders in the Justice Department promised to resign all together if he did any such thing, and Trump backed down.

If the states themselves could not be used to invalidate the legitimate Biden electors, though, Vice President Mike Pence could. As vice president, Pence would be responsible for counting the states’ certified ballots. Lawyer John Eastman of the conservative Claremont Institute (and former law clerk for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas) wrote a memo suggesting that Pence, “or Senate Pro Tempore Chuck Grassley, if Pence recuses himself,” could claim that “because of the ongoing disputes in the 7 States, there are no electors that can be deemed validly appointed in those States.” Rejecting them would mean there were only 454 legitimate votes, and 228 would make up a majority.

In that scenario, “there are at this point 232 votes for Trump, 222 votes for Biden,” Eastman wrote. “Pence then gavels President Trump as re-elected.”

Eastman’s memo continued: “Howls… from the Democrats…. So Pence says, fine…. Since... no candidate has achieved the necessary majority,” the matter goes to the House of Representatives, where each state gets a single vote. “Republicans currently control 26 of the state delegations…. Trump is reelected there as well.”

Eastman concluded: “The main thing… is that Pence should do this without asking for permission…. Let the other side challenge his actions in court,” where he expected the lawsuits would get thrown out because courts refuse to decide political questions.

The fly in this ointment turned out to be Pence, who, after conferring with advisors, steadfastly refused to act the part he had been assigned, a part that would have made him the leader of an insurrection and the obvious fall guy if things didn’t go as the conspirators had planned.

He also, though, refused to step aside, although there were clearly plans to make him do so. On January 5, Senator Grassley (R-IA) told a reporter that “we don’t expect Pence to be there,” and that he, Grassley, would “be presiding over the Senate.” His staff immediately walked that announcement back, saying it was a “misunderstanding.”

But Grassley’s statement reveals that the plan was widely known. Senior legal affairs reporter for Politico Kyle Cheney noted this weekend that Pence undercut those pushing him to deal with the fake electors by changing the language that explained what would be counted. The law says that the vice president must introduce all “purported” electoral votes. Pence added to the standard language that had been used for decades, saying that, according to the parliamentarian, the only votes that could be considered “regular in form and authentic” were those that had official state certification. Surely he would not have made such a change unless he felt the need to push back on those who would demand he acknowledge the fake ballots.

Frustrated by the vice president, Trump called on his followers who had planned a violent attack on the Capitol, possibly hoping to put enough pressure on Pence that he would change his mind; or to hold the lawmakers hostage until they agreed to his plan; or to slow down the process enough that the election would go to the House; or to slow it down enough that the Supreme Court, to which he had appointed three justices from whom he expected loyalty, would decide in his favor. At least four times on January 6, Trump tweeted about counting the forged ballots.

Miraculously, the plan failed, but Trump loyalists have been working ever since to make sure a repeat will not fail, passing new laws to suppress Democratic voters and take the counting of electoral votes out of the hands of nonpartisan officials and give it to Trump supporters.

This weekend, Trump told Republicans in Pennsylvania why he is focusing on races for supervisor of elections in 2022. “We have to be a lot sharper the next time when it comes to counting the vote,” he said. “There’s a famous statement: ‘Sometimes the vote counter is more important than the candidate,’ and we can’t let that ever, ever happen again. They have to get tougher and smarter.”

Voter fraud in America is vanishingly rare and has not affected the outcome of elections, and it is almost always prosecuted. But Trump loyalists used cries of voter fraud as an excuse to commit election fraud. Whether they will be prosecuted for it is an open question.

Brian Young, a Republican representing District 3, faces two felony counts of voting outside precinct and one count each of theft, perjury, and official misconduct. Republican Young claimed an address within his district when in fact he lived outside his district at another address. You'd think the politician would know enough about election law to re-register under his correct address. Probably he did and that's why he chose not to, since his political aspirations were in a district he thought he could win but apparently couldn't stand living within.

Good man Young says he lived with his girlfriend who suffers from MS in order to be her caregiver, and that he received clearance from local Republican Party officials to run for office the way he wanted to. Problem is, that when questioned, those same officials deny ever having approved his plans. Not only did he campaign as an illegitimate candidate, no, that wasn't enough. That last raises an interesting question. . .How did he manage that, considering voter ID hoops should have prevented him from possessing two voter registration records? If he didn't present a fake voter registration card at the polls, then poll workers are either mighty careless in that precinct, of have motives to "draw the veil." Cecile Scoon, the president of the League of Women Voters of Florida, called the new $50,000 fine a "direct threat" to her organization.

The Michigan Democratic Party (MDP) is calling for a full audit of the signatures for all 10 Republican candidates for governor to protect the election from being corrupted by cheaters before votes are even cast in primaries. Somebody has to protect Republican voters from Republican politicians!

“The extensive evidence of fraud and forgery found throughout the nominating petitions submitted by James Craig, Tudor Dixon, and Perry Johnson indicate not only that their irresponsible campaigns are grossly negligent, but that they are not capable of being accountable leaders,”

The violations are especially worrying, say election officials, because they break the chain of custody over ballots and tabulating equipment. Still NO EVIDENCE of Widespread of Systematic Voter Fraud 2020 Election

Here we are in May 2022 and mid-term primary fever has become pandemic among Republicans again. Observers note that the brain-eating virus that first appeared in the country's Trump area has morphed into a new variant, Same-Old, Same Old-2022, or So-So-22. As of this date, political virologists warn that the new variant is highly contagious and most likely will be responsible for many death among those who contact it.

Those most likely to contract the new variant attend MAGA-spreader events that are largely restricted to red state areas of the country, except Georgia where the MAGA-Spreader-in-Chief is just phoning in his virus. A small but possibly lethal outbreak is foreseen in MTG territory in north GA, where hive-minded zombies have also been detected in numbers, although none claim association with the popular TV series. However, they are there, waving signs that sport such messages as "Save America, Stop Communism." Political virologists are somewhat confused by this messaging, seeing that most Trump-pithed peoples are proponents of the viral "Better Red Than Dead" phenomenon that has swept through their ranks. Further, these same political investigators and observers are unable to find any evidence of communism in this country, which leaves the electorate entirely gob-smacked, trying to decipher what Republicans can mean whenever they spout off.

Anyway, America may be saved from such madness as a majority seem to have developed a heightened immunity to the Big Lie and have grown weary of masking up to escape its effects, no matter the variant. They have repeatedly asked the infected to show evidence of the virus that plagues the stolen election segment of the population only to be met with blank stares and a wave of bad breath from mouth-breathing consumers of Orange Boogeyman bootlic (a member of the garlic family). Fortunately, President Biden's free anti-virus vaccination campaign, $1.2B infrastructure package, and policies stimulating full employment (to name a few of his achievements in his first year) have led to strong popular viral resistance, as well as economic recovery. So, one hopes the stench still emanating from the rotting elephant corpse will continue to be dispersed with common f*cking sense being exercised at the polls, rendering the Big Lie a mythical chimera of the past.

Michigan’s attorney general has called for a special prosecutor to investigate allegations of a Republican-led effort to gain unauthorized access to voting equipment in the aftermath of the 2020 national election.

Attorney general Dana Nessel, a Democrat, called for the investigation on Friday after Michigan state police examined whether Matt DePerno, a lawyer and presumptive Republican candidate for the office, may have orchestrated the alleged effort.

A federal judge on Monday said U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham must testify before a special grand jury in Atlanta that is investigating whether then-President Donald Trump and his allies broke any laws while trying to overturn his narrow 2020 general election loss in the state.

Attorneys for Graham, R-S.C., had argued that his position as a U.S. senator provided him immunity from having to appear before the investigative panel and asked the judge to quash his subpoena. But U.S. District Judge Leigh Martin May wrote in an order Monday that immunities related to his role as a senator do not protect him from having to testify. Graham’s subpoena instructs him to appear before the special grand jury on Aug. 23, but his office said Monday he plans to appeal to the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals...
