Pick 3 Mini Challenge – November

Remember that you may combine 3 books from any of the categories any way you wish. You may choose one book from 3 different ones; 3 books from the same; 2 from one and 1 from another etc…just so you end up with 3

Pick 3 Challenges - November 2020

November 1National Authors Day – Lets take a moment to appreciate the author(s) that spent countless hours writing your favorite books.

November 2– Day of The Dead - Day of the Dead, or Día de los Muertos, is a traditional Mexican holiday. On this day, it is believed that the souls of the dead return to visit their living family members. Many people celebrate this day by visiting the graves of deceased loved ones and setting up altars with their favorite foods, drink, and photos.

November 9 – Go to an Art Museum Day - More than 30,000 museums around the world participate, and each year even has a different theme.

November 10 – Marine Corp’s Birthday - On November 10, 1775, just eight months shy of the Declaration of Independence, a new corps was formed following the introduction of the Continental Marine Act. As suggested by the title, the group was known as the Continental Marines. Today it’s the United States Marines. This group has participated, and lost service personnel, in every war the U.S. has fought in since the Revolutionary War.

November 11 - Veteran's Day -Remember those that gave so much for all of us.

November 18 – Happy Birthday Mickey Mouse – M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E. We’ve all know this famous rodent and his creator Walt Disney. Mickey is 92 years young today. It’s also Minnie’s birthday who is also 92 years young.

November 30 – St. Andrew Day - Saint Andrew is the patron saint of Scotland. Scots have celebrated Andrew for over a thousand years, with feasts being held in his honor as far back as the year 1000 AD. However, it wasn’t until 1320, when Scotland declared independence that he officially became Scotland’s patron saint. Since then Andrew has become part of the country. The flag of Scotland, the St Andrew’s cross, was chosen in his honor and the ancient town of St Andrews was named due to its claim of being his final resting place.

Carol! You are an inspiration. These challenges get me to look at my bookshelves in a whole new way.

#1 - Favorite author - Ray Bradbury as a tie-in with the SFFKit challenge, dystopian novels. Reading Farenheit 451.

#5 - David B. Coe, His Father's Eyes.

#5 - Jonathan Kellerman, Compulsion (or another one by him if I decide to go book shopping, like I really need to add to my piles!).

Ed: I discovered another re-read by Jonathan Kellerman, A Cold Heart, that is earlier in my reading shelf and so I'm less likely to remember the plot!
