Oh dear. I think you are right, Connie. I definitely would not want to wish 2020 on anyone again. (not that 2021 is behaving itself either- after all the chaos this week in Washington DC, you'd think that life might let up on us for a bit. You would be wrong. I got a contact tracing letter Thursday morning- I may have been exposed to COVID and am now in self-quarantine. I will be tested on Monday, and if negative, will return to work on Thursday. Thankfully, I have books to read!)

You have no idea. One of the people who work for the library system died from the virus and another is very ill. Finding out that my co-worker had it and might have infected the rest of us was very frightening. My doctors were really helpful with setting up testing and providing me with a statement excusing my absence from work.

>48 connie53: I have a downed fence and some tree damage but those things are nothing compared to what some of my neighbors are having to deal with. The storm was a monster. I was without electricity for 10 days and it was brutal in the heat but there are areas that are not expecting power to be restored until the end of the month. I fared much better than most. But I do NOT want to experience another storm like that again. EVER.

On a more pleasant note, I finished 5 books this month. Would have liked to do more but life intrudes on my reading time fairly frequently. But I did reach my goal and that is nice.

Thank you all for the good wishes- I am glad to have finally reached my goal. I felt like I was so close for so long. October doesn't look like it'll be very good for reading (at least so far) but I plan to read on.

Sorry I forgot to update- I found out recently that I have colon cancer and will be undergoing surgery on Dec 15. I hope to be able to continue reading, depending on how I feel post surgery. If I don't make it back before then (which I highly doubt), everyone have a wonderful holiday and happy reading!!

November was not the greatest month for reading but I did get 4 books in, for a total of 72. I'll add these to my ticker and see if it's possible to add them to our November totals. If not, then December will look better.

Thank you all for the good wishes. I am home- surgeon told me he got it all but I will have to wait until the results of the lymph node biopsies come in to know for sure. I have 3 days left to the year so I am going to make a valiant attempt to read just one more before Jan 1.

I will be back for more of the challenge!!

I see the doctor on Monday and will find out the verdict. I am optimistic.

So for December, I read 4 books, for a yearly total of 76.
