>5 Carol420: Hi Carol, apologies for the absence. Been a difficult time due to trying to run a school during a Pandemic, with the same expectations as in more normal times, and had a bad case of COVID that wrote off September and October. Still only just getting back to normal energy levels before that (still not fully there). Have handed in my notice to protect mine and my wife’s health as will keep bringing it home and putting us at risk due to other health issues for both of us and our ages. A very difficult decision but the only real decision we could make as can’t run the school in the way I need to and protect my wife. Will be exploring things I can do working from home. Leave at Easter, and then will have much more time for Librarything and many other things..

>10 Andrew-theQM: I'm sure that you will come up with something that works for you. 19 years is a long time but when you are doing something you love and believe in...it seems like no time at all. I gave 28 years of my life to a different type of education but wouldn't trade a day of it for anything.

Ho-ly cow, Andrew. I am amazed at the numbers of books you have read (my total this year came to 33), and for your decision about your position at the school. It is not easy to resign from something you love and I commend you for doing so.

And I am so, so glad you recovered from Covid and your wife as well. Blessings to you both.

>20 threadnsong: Thanks, it was a difficult year. No mean feat trying to keep a school open in the middle of a pandemic when the government doesn’t provide any extra income or have safety measures across the country. Stress certainly takes it out on you.

Reading has been my escapism!

Have had to put my wife’s safety (and mine) first. 3 1/2 years from when I can access my pension so will explore ways of earning money working from home in the meantime. Will be a big step after over 19 years of head ship and 36 years since I stated my training.

Hope you are well, and Happy New Year.
