Found: Children's book: hot air balloon stranded on island with gold

There is a parade and a man is in a hot air balloon but it flies away and he ends up stranded on an island. on the island there are a bunch of families, all with 4 people in them. their calendar is based off of how many families there are and every family has one month out of the year that they cook for everyone. all their houses are different styles and in one there is a room with bumper car furniture. a man had found this island and invited other families to come live with him there. and since there was so much gold on the island every year they went to the mainland to buy everything they needed. they have a carousel that has a balloon in it incase the volcano ever erupts. while the man is there the volcano erupts and all the families run to the carousel with their emergency stashes of gold. the main character tries to go get some gold but the volcano was erupting fast. they end up escaping and the main character notes that the air must have been filled with millions of dollars of gold dust. The end.
