So happy for some slightly cooler temps and a significant drop in humidity! No wonder autumn is my favorite season!

The area where I live also looks and feels like autumn now, which is very welcome. I want to drive out to take pictures of the cotton fields in sunset whenever my partner has a day off work (assuming he's up to it then and the humidity is low enough not to fog up the lenses).

>2 BookConcierge: I love the leaf color in autumn...so I guess of the 4 seasons autumn would be my favorite also. The leaves are just beginning to change in Michigan. We just came back from an overnight event in Indiana and the horses and sheep are beginning to grow their winter coats. Wish there was some way to just skip winter:)

>3 aspirit: Hi there. Haven't heard from you in awhile. Hoped all was good with you and yours, but I know you have a homeschooled child that probably keeps you very busy. Humidity....I grew up in Florida and had family also in Alabama & Louisiana...so I know what you're saying about humidity. Humidity also brings hoards of mosquitos to feast on the "tasty humans".

Popping in to follow along with the conversations. :-)

>5 LibraryCin: Howdy!

>4 Carol420: I sometimes run outside to take photos of something the kiddo say, only to face too much fog on the lense. I guess that's also a heat problem; the camera is colder than the air outside.

We have been busy here. I've been pushing again for answers to my medical conditions while dealing with scary-high bills from testing during the summer. My partner's schedule has been all over the place as the rest of management gets sick, goes into quarantine, and in some cases, quits.

Homeschooling is going well, though. This so far has been our easiest school year. (I am very, very grateful we can stay away from everything going on at the public and charter schools!)

>6 aspirit: Glad things are going fairly well for you. The schools here are crazy ridiculous....a lot of it is the parents. I'm glad I don't have to deal with any of it anymore. My friend, Luke has moved almost his entire office into their spare bedroom and his husband, Conner, says he almost has to make an appointment to see him. Conner can't hold court in the kitchen very well...although he says the bathroom seems more than appropriate... so he's pretty much tied into going into the office and hoping that the vaccine works it's magic and he doesn't bring anything home. It's helped that court is only held two days a week now and the rest of the time he can hide out in the closet at home if he wants. I had to laugh at him when he said he "came out of the closet 30 years ago". My husband and I retired 10 years ago so we're not "obligated" to a work force and he can do his woodworking and I can read. Take care.

Oh wow, Carol, thanks for this thread!

Great to hear from everyone popping in and saying hello. I'm spending a quiet and rainy October evening catching up on LT and adding books and deciding what I want to read for this month.

Somewhere in there is going to be dinner, but not before catching up with my reading buddies!

Got my COVID booster shot yesterday. Feeling tired and just generally "out of it" today. Took a nap in the afternoon. "Lost" my keys somewhere in the house (Hubby found them in the guest bedroom). Just has soup for dinner ... and I'm ready for bed again.

I'm sure I'll be fine tomorrow. This was the same as when I got the first two doses.

>10 BookConcierge: My husband and I got our boosters last week. Luckily we had no negative reactions to either the first two or the booster. Hope your back to normal today.

I added a disclaimer of sorts to my review of Perron Manor under the review on What Are We Reading and Reviewing topic. Didn't want ayone thing thet it was or wasn't fiction or non-fiction. That's everyone's opinion.

You know I can't believe what keeps on changing on Goodreads, every time I go back on there. First, urls aren't permitted on your own profile. Now, no more urls are to be posted in groups, and if you have an existing post with a picture in it, it won't update. Why are Amazon taking the fun out of everything?

>13 deaflower: I don't understand their reasoning. You can change the privacy setting that they decided should be changed without giving anyone a choice. Go to your home page and click on your profile picture and then on settings and set your privacy settings to receive messages from everyone or just from friends etc.

Also... ability of moderators to send out blast messages on group updates is irrespective of members' privacy settings.

Hi, I hope that this is okay to do in here. I was just wondering if I could put this link here from YouTube. It's to do with the 2022 Book Judging for the Booktube Prize. At the moment, the organisers are trying to recruit as many judges as they can before the end of the year, so I am trying to help, by putting the link on LibraryThing. I have offered to be one for the very first time as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4j5kN3L-FA&t=11s

>19 deaflower: There's no right or wrong place to post things here. It's perfectly okay and if the people that run the site don't want it her they'll remove it...but I don't see that Book judging would be anything they would object to.
