YA fiction book, based in Ireland during potato famine. I read this book when I was younger so it would have been published before 2011. It might’ve had a blue cover? I remember they took their cow to town to get it bled, and put the blood in their food for nutrients. One of the characters was down by a river or stream and there was a kid with his mouth stained green from trying to eat grass. The landlords would burn/destroy peoples houses if they couldn’t pay rent. I’m pretty sure they broke into a grain mill or something to steal food so their family could survive but I’m not entirely sure if that actually happened or not.
