Why did my newly “Add books” go to “To read” instead of “Your library”?

Can anyone (especially LT staff) tell me why the 2 books that l recently added go to the “To read” category instead of “Your library” category, which I intend them to go to? Please tell me how to fix it. Thanks!

You have 4 books in your ‘to read’ collection, so I’m assuming you meant to use it for the other two? Each time you add, you need to check which collection you’ve used just previously, as that’s the one that is automatically chosen.
You can edit which collection after adding a book from the work page, or the quick edit on the add books page, or from your catalog.

Click on the collections folder to open it. Check the box you want and then uncheck the one you don’t want.

It will always go to one or more collections selected before you add it and those remain the same as for the previous add until you change them on the 'add book' page. Change the collection/s beforehand or just edit afterwards.

>1 12_lbpks: Ive noticed lately that LT seems to pick and choose, also. So, sometimes it gets stuck on - for instance- wishlist. When I discover it and change it- it continues to add things to wishlist. There is no seeming rhyme or reason. Sometimes it adjusts quickly sometimes it takes 10-20 incessant adjustments before it finally takes. just an observation. sort of drives me up the wall

>4 EGBERTINA: You need to change it before the search for the book - the site always remembers your last choice when you open Add Books and the value used is the one before you search for the book. So if you added something to the Wishlist, the next will also go there until you change the choice of collections. That’s how LT’s Add Books page has always worked.

If it does not “take”, open a bug report with details. Make sure that you change it before you do a search though - it won’t take after you had searched and seen results.
