I want to say this book is pre 2010. Young adult book.
The three main characters are Jeremy (Or Jeff), Joy and Darren (Darin). They've been friends for a long time. Joy and Darren have been dating, but one night when they were horsing around Darren fell into the pool and became paralyzed. He's changed and has become angry and might have a drinking problem now.
It's the end of their senior year. Jeremy and Joy begin messing around behind Darren's back. Joy plays softball and gets a scholarship to play in college. She gets pregnant.
Other things I remember: Jeremy is being raised by his mother after his father was killed. His parents own a bar.
