I own The Aquitaine Progression, but I haven't read it. Own and have read The Talisman. Remember reading about the Bitter Butter Battles at some point...

# 10 from the Fiction list for me, too. One of Vidal's best.

I have ...And All the Ladies of the Club as a gift from one of my daughters.

I have gotten half-way through it twice. That is a big book.

How have you all found it?

My ex-mother-in-law had it and loved it. I made it half way through the first chapter. It wasn't bad, it's just very, very S L O W.

I haven't read any of the books on these lists, but I have read the book named after the year!

I loved And Ladies of the Club when I read it back in the 80s, but when I tried to read it last year (after this thread was started & I was reminded how much I enjoyed it), I got bored after only a few pages and put it down. Funny, you'd think I'd enjoy it more now that I'm old(er).

I think I've only read Moses the Kitten by James Herriot. I might have looked at Leo Buscaglia's book.

The Talisman and The Sicilian, and my husband has the Iacocca autobiography although I have never been tempted to read it.
