Truro Cathedral

I have just visited Truro in Cornwall. The cathedral there has a memorial not just to Benson's father, who went on from being Bishop of Truro to become Archbishop of Canterbury, but to the whole Benson family, including Fred.

Sportingly, they do not mention that one of Fred's brothers later went over to the other side and became a Roman Catholic archbishop!

Visiting London today, I found that the primatial cross made for Benson's father when he became Archbishop of Canterbury is currently on display in an exhibition of "Treasures of the English Church" at Goldsmiths' Hall.

I've been to Truro Cathedral umpteen times and never knew that! It certainly warrants a return trip next time I'm in town! Thanks!
