Discussion - Episode 4.15 "The Oath" SPOILERS

That? Was a prime example of what I meant by "sacking up". And also awesome.

Also, it was apparently "every tertiary character from the entire history of the show gets a paycheck" week.

The only things I did not like about tonight's ep were 1) I don't like that Racetrack's part of the mutiny, and 2) Damn, Helo, when you know anti-Cylon sentiment is high in the fleet, and you hear gunshots, yelling, and pounding feet, perhaps your first step should be to lock your damn door.

Other than that? Awesome.

OMG, I frakking love this show.

Looked to me like Starbuck had way more in her sack than Lee, but I do like that he told off Tigh.

Personally, and I know I'll be in the minority, I feel like this is what, the 4th or 5th mutiny they've had in this show and rather than pursue that tired meme, I just want to find out what the hell's been going on in this series. We got no answers to any of the lingering questions, just a lot of running around with guns.

I get it--some cylons are good and some humans are bad. Some good people do bad things and some bad people can occasionally step up. Can we just get to the point, finally?

It was well directed and acted, tho.

*snicker* That's pretty much been the case since day one, though - we have to grade on a curve. It was nice to see Starbuck back up to proper hot-shot ass-kicking form, though.

I agree that this is the eleventymillionth mutiny/coup, but I think this is the first time where I really felt like everything could actually go very, very wrong. In fact, this was the first episode since "Pegasus" where I had a sick feeling in my stomach throughout the whole ep, because so much was going wrong, and so many people were more or less helpless to put things right, and I really didn't (don't) expect everyone to make it out okay. Probably not coincidental that several Pegasus officers reappeared in this episode.

I agree about Starbuck. My favorite part, as usual, was Baltar. James Callis can do no wrong in my book. "No, you can keep your statue." LOL.

SF writer Peter Watts is a BSG fan, and has an interesting speculation on his blog. I wouldn't mind, myself, but I can't think of any TV series that has ever ended that way.

Nice to have Laura back. I thought some of the early-in-the-episode interchange between Laura and Adama was reminiscent of earlier times. When he said he tried to be home for dinner and she said, "I'll have it ready" - I loved it.

I'm not a big 'plosions sort of gal, but the intensity of the episode made a terrific backdrop to exercise to (watching it the second time around, of course).

Perhaps they're going for the 'sometimes things have to be broken before they can be fixed' sort of thing.

That does appear to be where they're going with this. Rats on a sinking ship turning on each other isn't very pleasant to watch, even with a lot of exciting gunfire.

I've just realised I have no interest in reading any of Mr. Watt's books.
