I just wanted to let everyone here know I wrote a poem this morning called The Twelve Days Of Middle-Earth Christmas. Of course it's based on The Twelve Days of Christmas but I hopefully gave it a Middle-Earrth version I hope everyone will like. I'll probably post it during my lunch hour this afternoon. Like all of my other poems I've posted in Poetry Fool in the past while I was a member of that group at the time before I decided to leave the group. Maybe in 2010 I might decide to try and give Poetry Fool another chance. Because everyone deserves a second chance. It just came to me and I started writing it down.
Since I feel everyone deserves a second chance I'm
also willing to give everyone at Pro And Con a second chance in 2010 as well. To prove to both of these LT groups that I'm not harboring a grudge against them for the way I had been previously treated in both of these groups. Enough time has passed since the nasty incidents of name calling and people ganging up on me for some statements I had made that had been taken out of context by some people in those two groups. I'm willing to let bygones be bygones and have a wait and see attitude as to what kind of receptions I'll receive upon rejoining these groups sometime during 2010. I'm hoping that people are also willing to give me a second chance as well and NOT to hold any grudges against me for anything I had posted in those two LT groups in the past since my original intentions had not meant to offend anyone. I was only posting my opinions just like anyone else does in any of the LT groups. I'm willing to take the High Road and be civilized about this which is why I'm going to give them a second chance.
Like a lot of other people here in LT I'll often try to
add some humour to my postings whenever I can. And if I'm wrong about something I posted in one of my LT groups or someone says to me Hey, Beatles1964 I was offended about sometihng you posted earlier I'm quick to offer up a heart-felt and sincere Apology to anyone I might've unintentionally offended in one of my postings. I don't try to write very controversial postings and offend everyone here at LT and make enemies of people in that particular group. There are a lot of misunderstandings by the kind of things people post and I know that I've also been involved in my share of misunderstandings about something someone had written about me. So misunderstandings can and do happen to people here in LT. And I can't really remember any heart-felt and sincere Apologies from many people in either Pro And Con or Poetry Fool when they said something I personally took offense to. But hey, like I said I'm willing to forgive and forget and give them all a second chance.

The Twelve Days of Middle-Earth Christmas
On the first day of Middle-Earth Christmas my
True Love gave to me the One Ring to rule them
all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them
all and in the darkness bind them In the Land of
Mordor where the shadows lie
On the second day of Middle-Earth Chirstmas my
True Love gave to me two Black Riders looking
for me in The Shire
On the third day of Middle-Earth Chirstmas my
True Love gave to me Three Rings of the Elven
Kings under the sky
On the fourth day of Middle-Earth Christmas my
True Love gave to me four learned Elves in the
history and lore of Middle-Earth
On the fifth day of Middle-Earth Chirstmas my
True Love gave to me five Pints of Ale from The
Prancing Pony Inn run by Barliman Butterbur in
Bree and a Baggins, Took, Brandybuck and Gamgee
hobbit to sing, dance and tell a good tale
On the sixth day of Middle-Earth Christmas my
True Love gave to me Elven Ships a-Sailing from
the West and going to the Undying Land never
to be seen again by anyone in Middle-Earth
On the seventh of Middle-Earth Christmas my
True Love gave to me Seven Rings for the Dwarrf-
lords in thier halls of stone
On the eighth day of Middle-Earth Christmas my
True Love gave to me eight dwarves a digging in
their mines
On the ninth day of Middle-Earth Christamas my
True Love gave to me the Nine Walkers to go
against the Nine Riders in a quest to bring the One
Ring to Mount Doom and destroy it in the fire from
which it was made
On the tenth day of Middle-Earth Christmas my
True Love gave to me ten Wargs a yapping, biting
and keeping me up all night
On the eleventh day of Middle-Earth Chirstmas my
True Love gave to me eleven Orcs a fighting, killing
and destroying everything in sight
On the twelfth day of Middle-Earth Chirstmas my
True Love gave to me twelve dwaves eating me
out of house and home and a Wizard knocking on
my front door calling me a burglar and telling the
dwarves they must learn to trust me on thier quest
quest to roam Middle-Earth with them to help
kill an evil old dragon and reclaim the dwarves gold
of long ago
Twelve dwarves eating me out of house and home
and a Wizard knocking on my front door calling me
a burglar and telling the dwarves they must learn
to trust me on their quest to roam Middle-Earth
with them to help kill an old dragon and reclaim the
dwarves gold of long ago
Eleven Orcs a fighitng, killing and desroying every
thing in sight
Ten Wargs a yapping, biting and keeping me up all
night
Nine Walkers to go against the Nine Riders in a quest
to bring the One Ring to Mount Doom and destroy it
in the fire by which it was made
Eight dwarves a digging in their mines
Seven Rings for the Dwarf-Lords in their halls of
stone
Six Elven Ships a-Sailing from the West and going
to the Undying Land never to be seen again by
anyone in Middle-Earth
Five Pints of Ale from The Prancing Pony Inn run
by Burliman Butterbur in Bree and a Baggins, Took,
Brandybuck and Gamgee to sing, dance and tell a
good tale
Four learned Elves in the history and lore of Middle-
Earth
Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky
Two Black Riders looking for me in The Shire
And the One Ring to rule them all One Ring to find
them One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness
bind them In the Land of Mordor where the
Shadows lie
I know this proabably could've been a lot better
than it is however I've already gone through several
different revisions of this poem and I may need to
go through several more revisions until I feeL I got it
right. It really does need a little bit more work on it
especially on the Ninth day of Middle-Earth
Christmas. And I know I've written much better
poems than this one. At least I feel I've written
much better poems in the past than this one here.

I've tried twice to post a message to you about liking your poem. Maybe this time it will work! sibyx/Lucy

*chuckles* that is a wonderful poem! Lord of the Rings has always reminded me of christmas...I usually read LOTR annually around this time and of course the movies came out on Boxing Day. I have to say it's the most entertaining poem that I have read in a while =D

Wow!!!!!!! Thank You Very Much MandaThe Strange that is certainly very high praise. I love hearing how much you really enjoyed it. If only my other poems I've written got such high praise from other people here in LT. It just came to me one day and I just started writing it down as it popped into my head. Right now I'm reading The LoTR The Return of the King. I love to go back and re-read The Hobbit and The LoTR trilogy. I usually like to try to read them on a yearky basis but if I can't do that then I try to read about every other year. Last year I was able to finish The Hobbit, The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers but unforunately I was unable to finish The Return of the King.
The poem came to me while I was still reading The Return of the King at t he time. Usually the ideas for my poems will just automatically come to me out of nowhere or I might be inspired by something or thinking about a particular topic at the time and all of a sudden an idea just pops into my head and I'll start writing it down right away.

On that Christmas theme, anyone who hasn't yet read Tolkien's The Father Christmas Letters has a great read ahead of them. Here's what the Tolkien website says:
http://www.tolkienlibrary.com/booksbytolkien/fatherchristmas/description.htm
The books have long been out of print, but used copies are still available. Here is a YouTube reading of The Father Christmas Letters:
