And if you make a tagmash of those three terms, you get this list of top 10 books which have been tagged as boring, overrated, crap:

# The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown
# Eragon by Christopher Paolini
# Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand
# The Catcher in the Rye by J. D. Salinger
# Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
# Dune: The Butlerian Jihad by Brian Herbert
# Ishmael: An adventure of the Mind and Spirit by Daniel Quinn
# The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
# Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke
# Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman's Search for Everything Across… by Elizabeth Gilbert
# The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon

(although I rather liked Ishmael... but then, I'm a major treehugger.)

How does that list compare to the list of books most often tagged anything?

You've managed to filter outthe HPs quite well, but othersie it seems to be a list of popular books, which simply by virtue of being commonly owned will also be most frequently negatively tagged.

#3: Really? I mean the top books are

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (53,088)
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (48,652)
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (46,412)
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (46,103)
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (46,044)
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (45,361)
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (40,889)
The Da Vinci Code (37,581)
The Hobbit, or, There and Back Again (35,089)
Nineteen Eighty-Four (33,333)
Pride and Prejudice (33,260)
The Catcher in the Rye (31,807)
To Kill a Mockingbird (29,838)
Twilight (29,001)
The Great Gatsby (27,407)
The Kite Runner (26,235)
The Lord of the Rings (25,131)
Jane Eyre (23,751)
Angels & Demons (23,155)
Animal Farm (22,766)
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (22,686)
New Moon (22,518)
The Time Traveler's Wife (21,850)
Brave New World (21,773)
Life of Pi (21,438)

The books in the tagmash aren't just popular, they're the popular books that are disliked by a number of their readers and/or holders. Note that New Moon and Angels & Demons don't show up in the tagmash; only people who liked Twilight and The Da Vinci Code bothered reading them and they liked them, or at least didn't bash them in tags. Eragon is 86 and Atlas Shrugged is 106; their popularity alone doesn't explain why they rank so highly on this list. Dune: The Butlerian Jihad is number 3,006; no invoking popularity there.
