Same Sex in the City (So Your Prince Charming is Really a Cinderella) by Lauren Levin and Lauren Blitzer
This is a non-fiction book written for all ages of lesbians. However, this book was written because when the authors were teens they could not find books that would help them come to terms with their sexuality. The local bookstores gay and lesbian section consisted of erotica written by women in their 40s. (Still does but it is getting better) So the Laurens decided to write the book they wish they would have had. It talks about all the "normal" teen relationship issues. But instead of focusing on boy-girl relationships it is girl-girl. It talks about labeling, coming out, break-ups, first times, and other important issues. The Laurens tell their stories and other womens stories in a very candid way. The book was written in a way that is informative for lesbians, friends and family of lesbians, and anyone really. This book would be best suited for 16-18 year olds. I would recommend it for public libraries and high school libraries. It is interestingly informative without being trashy.
