- De Rijksmuseum Research Library is de grootste kunsthistorische museumbibliotheek van Nederland. Er worden sinds 1885 onafgebroken boeken, tijdschriften, veiling-, tentoonstellings-, handels- en collectiecatalogi, jaarverslagen etc. verzameld die te maken hebben met de collecties van het museum. Boeken en tijdschriften worden niet uitgeleend aan externe bezoekers. De Rijksmuseum Research Library en het Rijksprentenkabinet beschikken over een gezamenlijke studiezaal. Bezoekers kunnen daar werken uit de collecties opvragen en bestuderen. Voor een bezoek hoeft er geen afspraak gemaakt te worden, uitgezonderd bij de raadpleging van kwetsbare en zeldzame werken. Wel is een geldig legitimatiebewijs verplicht. Lidmaatschap van de bibliotheek is verplicht, maar gratis.
Tijdens de renovatie van het hoofdgebouw van het museum is de bibliotheek gehuisvest in een tijdelijke locatie vlak bij het Rijksmuseum op het Museumplein.

The Rijksmuseum Research Library is the largest art history museumlibrary in the Netherlands. It functions as a library of last resort. Catalogues of auctions and exhibitions, trade and collection catalogues, as well as books, periodicals and annual reports relating to the museum collections have been collected without interruption since 1885. Books and periodicals cannot be borrowed by external visitors. The Rijksmuseum Research Library and the Department of Prints and Drawings share a common reading room. Here visitors can request, view and study part of the collection. There is no need to make an appointment unless you wish to view very fragile or rare works. You do need to show valid identification. Membership is required, but free.
During renovations of the main building of the museum, the library is located at a temporary adress nearby the Rijksmuseum at the Museumplein. - Adicionado Por
