Descrição:
The shop opened in about 1984 as LTS, but changed it's name 18 months later to Paradise Alley.
Located in Tin Pan Alley (which links St. Giles High Street with Denmark Street) and hidden away behind Forbidden Planet 2. This was the pokiest little comic shop known to man. You had to give your bags / rucksacks as soon as you went in the door to the grumpiest and unfriendliest chap you ever saw in your life with greasy black hair and glasses who sat crouched Miserably behind the counter; in exchange you were given half a playing card and you got your bags back when you left. This tiny little shop probably held as many comics as Forbidden planet did at the time except they were all about 20 or 30 years old! The place was like a shoe box with comics crammed into every nook and cranny floor to ceiling! It was quite something.

I used to exploit the fact that FP2 backed onto Tin Pan Alley as did Paradise Alley, by brazenly opening the rear entrance door, like I was in my own house, and cutting through FP2 because I was too lazy to walk round the side of the building. The guy behind the counter didn't care too much at first, but after a while it really pissed him off.
The guy who ran Paradise Alley was no fun either; a miserable wretch who looked like he hated being there. I still think about the old place when I see a playing card even now.
