Pie-in-the-sky, klutzy, loving elementary school teacher Kelly is one stiletto away from catastrophe. Alekos stood her up at the aisle and later come back with a vengeance wanting to know why should would sell her priceless engagement ring on E-bay. They met 4 years prior and entered a hot affair that lead to the wedding out of little girls princess fantasies. On the morning of the I-Do's, Alekos reads a magazine interview that Kelly gave where she states she wants 4 children...UH-OH...Alekos doesn't want children. And he's off and running. Now he's back to get his ring...and to pick up where they left off? Nope just a quickly on the kitchen table that guess what...leaves Kelly pregnant. Oh boy, where do we go from here? He sends for her, she thinks it's about the ring. Once these two learn to set their hormones on idle they learn to talk to one another, to start trusting one another...but Kelly is still not fully trusting yet wants the ring he told her to wear on her right hand back on her left where she thinks it belongs. She really needs to get out of the clouds and face the man from time to time and really listen to him and ask those questions she fears. They finally discover one another childhood nightmares. He had an absent father. Her's didn't want children so ended up disappointing her time after time with broken promises. And now...we have baby on the way. I will give Alekos credit, after his initial freak-out he tried to get his head around fatherhood and put away the nerves. Funny moments, Kelly can not walk in high heels and has to hold on to Alekos so she doesn't fall flat on her face. Love it...a woman who doesn't automatically take to designer clothing and Loboutain shoes. Oh yes, and what did she buy with the $4 million Alekos paid for the ring...a new playground for the school she works at. He couldn't understand why should would do it and she couldn't fathom not personally getting involved in the charitable foundation his company has. Bottom line, it was a great story for a day at the doctor's waiting room and going for labs to be drawn. Light hearted though there are a couple of emotional scenes. Nice happy ending for all. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica

The hero left the heroine at the altar 4 years ago. Yikes! How do you redeem your hero after that? But SM manages it. I loved the hero. He was sweet and real. He talked more like a real modern man than in any HP I can recall. He makes mistakes but he tries hard to win the heroine back. The heroine has him wrapped around her finger and keeps him constantly off balance. She is a chatterbox and a bit ditzy and you can tell that he likes that about her. The heroine was sweet too. She had some real concerns about them getting back together. They sleep together the day they meet again and the best part is that neither one of them can keep their hands off each other. It's refreshing that it's not just the girl being led around by her naughty bits.
This book had me grinning in places like when he admitted that he didn't want kids and she knew she was already pregnant.
There were other places too and there were bits that just struck my romantic bone just right. For example, at a business dinner...
Then there was the scene where he had purchased a bunch of stuff for the baby. Several awww moments there. And the ending was very satisfying. Among other pretty things, Alekos tells her:
