CGlanovsky: The comparison is mostly to the "book-within-a-book" that makes up one half of Bulgakov's narrative. Both books tell a version of Jesus's encounter with Pilate where the Roman tries to intercede on the prophet's behalf.
O Mestre e Margarita é a última obra de Mikhaíl Bulgákov. O seu processo de criação foi extremamente conturbado, tendo as ideias iniciais surgido na primeira metade da década de 1920. Após incontáveis vicissitudes, o romance viria a ser concluído por volta de 1940 e publicado vinte e seis anos mais tarde.
