Todd Gitlin and Liel Liebovitz wanted to discredit or to deflate the assumption of Divine Election or “choseness” with their brazenness. Yet, within the book, the reader gets the sense that they did a turnaround of sorts, through their own research. Their perceptions and concepts changed from subjective to objective. Their presumptuousness did a back flip.
