The book is broken into regions of the world and each animal is given a couple of stunning photographs, at least one of which is full page, along with a description of the animal in general as well as about its use of camouflage. There are some of the usual insect examples, which lend themselves to those kinds of pictures where it takes a second to spot it, to the larger animals that, while we probably knew their markings were for camouflage we had long forgotten how exactly they worked. In addition, the basic stats about size, diet, range, and importantly conservation status are included.
While there isn't a bibliography, the inclusion of scientific as well as common names for each animal makes it easy for someone to do further reading or research if desired.
I would recommend this to readers who enjoy learning about animals both common and unusual, and I think this would be an ideal book to have in a home with youngsters who might be naturally curious, since this will answer their basic questions and perhaps whet their appetite to learn more.
