There is at least 3 more coming in fact. This is however a wrap up to the quest Kate has been on since page one of MAGIC BITES. In true Kate fashion she wraps up that challenge as diplomatically as possible. Ok and lots of blood and bodies rended and there is that spectacular scene with Hibla... There is one thing I have always appreciated that Andrews does, especially as the series has progressed and many recurring characters got more "screen" time. They give the background characters outside lives. When Mauro speaks about his choices in life or even when Hugh waxes poetic about his campaigns, they don't necessarily involve Kate, but speak to a wider sense of world building. Many times these events make sense in hindsight or suddenly click like "oh my god that makes sick sense". What does the future hold...? Well. I sincerely hope Ghastek recovers his wits...that verbal smackdown from Curran had to BURN something fierce... I wont lie, having this book end where it did is driving me insane, after 7 books of set up to make dear old dad the big bad evil, and this one makes it seem like he's just a meddling ass that has some shitty moments... so had I been reading these books when they came out I probably wouldnt pick up book 8 at all... but ive got a friend that tells me, its gets better... so once I find the last 3 books then I'll finish the series. This was such a kick-ass book! :D :D Not only is Kate's lineage out in the open (and many aren't happy with it), we get to meet Roland! I can honestly say... it was not what I expected (in a good way, I promise). As always, world building is superb. All scenes and environments are described with detail and were very clear (I love the giant turtle :D). We went all over the place, even some new exotic locations, but never was confused about my surroundings. Character development was great. As this is already book 7, you would think you know all there is to know about our cast, but yeah, you don't :) There is always something new to discover, a quality to highlight. Kate learns that her caring for everyone in her pack is seen as a weakness by many of the other shifters. Though it makes her who she is, she finds the strength to go on, to push through all odds against her just to help her friends, her family. They matter to her and she has the scars (and nightmares) to prove it. Pacing and flow were really well, of course, we have a great amount of action and excitement (and then some) but there is enough downtime to catch your breath before you get thrown in again. The book itself was well written, some little errors here and there, but nothing that pulled me from the flow of the unfolding story. There is some sex described in this book (if that is important to you). All in all a really good book (also loved the small novella at the end about Julie!), some major changes are afoot and can't wait to see how they unfold in the next part. sem crÃticas | adicionar uma crÃtica

Kate Daniels series #7. Urban fantasy, horror. Best read in series order.
Kate, as mate of the Beast Lord, Curran, is called to attend the Conclave. It’s a gathering of the leaders from the various supernatural factions in Atlanta. When one of the Masters of the Dead is found murdered, Kate must track down the killer within 24 hours, or there will be war.
A super charged string of battles, twists and magic that will have your head spinning. Not the least of which includes Roland, an all powerful, manipulative being that can’t decide if Kate should love or die.
Intense and powerful.
Authors note says it may read like the final chapter but there is plenty more to come. ( )
