He's the captain of a Russian sub and she's a CIA analyst thrown into the field at the last minute. She's a terrible spy and he knows about her before she even boards the ship. Ok read.

Many unbelievable events and actions taking place but in the end I just didn't care because this was such a intriguingly different story. The suspense, who is the saboteur, part completely eclipsed the romance side of the story. Heroine was borderline TSTL which dropped this from being a 5star book because the interaction between her and the hero didn't quite gel for me at times. The hero, Nikolai was hot, hot, hot. Seriously, top 5 hottest male characters I've read all year.
Read this for the suspense, hero, and just plain old interesting-something-new aspects. ( )

I forgot how Nina Bruhns sucks you into her series and makes you go NO I have to wait for the next book.. Her last series Passion For Danger sucked you in and you could not wait to get to the last book.. This is the first in her new Men In Uniform series. And where it was not as strong of a opener book as her previous series was it still had you ready to read the next book about Clint Walker which continues the story from this one.. This book had two strong characters - Russian Nikolai Romanoff of the Russian Navy and CIA analyst Julie Severin. The chemistry between these two is hot from there first meeting even through both of them have issies with the others country. Maybe it was because this book took place on a submarine that it was limited on the action so that made it a little of a slower read but all in all it was a good first start to what I hope is a another exciting series from Nina. Note: This is the first Nina Bruhns book I have read and it was really an entertaining action packed read. I was a little disappointed when I turned the page to find Clint's book wouldn't be out till winter 2012. So I went on the web, I found dates from Nov. 2011 to March 2012 so I am going to cross my fingers for the Nov. 2011 date and hope it was a misprint on the snippet at the end!

What I Loved: Can I move to Russia now? Wait! I have been there and I don't remember any Nikolai Romanov at the ports I visited. Nikolai was hot, hot, hot! The navy in any country sure do pick their candidates well! The pure attraction between him and Julie was off the charts. It was a quick attraction but it didn't feel forced to me. Usually, I am not a fan of the get right to it but in this case it really did work. Especially with their backgrounds, the things going on, and the characters that came into play during the story.

What I Liked: The story itself was pretty darn good. There were moments where you were like that couldn't really happen but it worked for the story. All of these things could happen in extraordinary cases, so I always go with that POV when reading a story. I didn't figure out the twist until about half way through and that was a nice surprise.

Complaints: Did I mention about the long wait for Clint's book, who *gulp* I think I love as much as Nikolai?

Why I gave a 3.75: The was a great entertaining read that goes by quickly (read it one afternoon)! Perfect for a hot summer night of escapism! ( )
