Be', stendiamo un velo pietoso sulla cover... assolutamente inguardabile rispetto all'originale... se dovessimo scegliere i libri in base alla copertina, Night Huntress sarebbe una delle più sfortunate...
E sarebbe un vero peccato. Perché questa è una delle serie paranormal romance sui vampiri più belle in assoluto. Divertente, ironica, sexy, piena d'azione e di colpi di scena.
Ritroviamo tutti questi ingredienti irresistibili in I fantasmi della notte. Ritroviamo una Cat innamoratissima del suo Bones (e, onestamente, possiamo esserne sorprese?) e più matura. La Mietitrice Rossa ha imparato a fidarsi di Bones e della loro relazione. Sa di non essere sola adesso, nel bene e nel male.
E Bones... è sempre pronto a perdere la testa per la sua Cat. Il fatto che sia telepatico e possa captare tutti i pensieri sgradevoli rivolti a sua moglie provoca non pochi guai a diverse persone...
In questo libro ritroviamo Fabian, sempre così carino da far venire voglia di stringerlo... anche se è un fantasma! Ed è proprio Fabian e presentarci Elisabeth, che, disperata, chiede l'aiuto di Cat e Bones per fermare un fanatico fantasma ancora capace di torturare ed uccidere vittime innocenti.
In cerca di una soluzione per sbarazzarsi di qualcuno che è già morto, Cat e Bones faranno la conoscenza di Tyler, un personaggio a dir poco strepitoso...
Poi ritroveremo il vecchio gruppo: Spade con Denise, Justina (che darà qualche problemino... l'avreste mai detto?) e, soprattutto, Ian, che spero fortemente avrà un libro tutto per sé.
C'è tanto divertimento in questo sesto volume della serie, come la Frost ci ha abituato ad aspettarci da lei... ma anche molta serietà riguardo all'intolleranza e alla violenza che questa comporta, ai saldi principi che guidano le azioni delle persone e alla forza che dà avere alle spalle una famiglia e degli amici affidabili e fidati.

A witch hunter comes alive each All Hallows Eve and kills innocent women. Cat, with her ghost abilities still intact, hunts the killer down for a more permanent death this time. But alive, his skills and strength may be more than Cat and Bones can handle.

Haunting and compelling. Cat is definitely looking out for the underdog but there is always evil to contend with. Friends are the best supporters and many show up to help in this story.
It’s a great addition to the series with this a bit more of an urban fantasy feel. ( )

Decent Cat and Bones adventure, but the attacks from the ghost got repetitive after a while. It was fun to have so much of Charles and Denise in this one, and Tyler was a fun new character. It left some loose ends with Cat and Bones, but it looks like the next books in the series are Vlad’s. I hope they’re good! ( )
