Andrew Styles has been commissioned to bring back to New York City a young lady from southern Africa, who needs to come back to fulfill her deceased grandfather's stipulations in his will; she inherits it all if she comes back and lives the the States for one year. Seemed like a simple task for Andrew, but when he met the headstrong, no nonsense LIzzie MacTavis he knew he had his work cut out for him. Lizzie has no desire to leave the people her parents spent a lifetime ministering to and now she has taken over that task. But things will go from bad to worse in the village while Andrew is there and it will force Lizzie to make the trek home, even against her desires.
Back in New York LIzzie will have to learn to fit in to a society that is far from normal for her and Andrew will have to be patient for Lizzie to believe he truly loves her for who she is. Andrew will also have to face some things from his past and let the Lord have complete control of his life once again. This was a heartwarming and delightful story and I enjoyed my time in Rhodesia and a short stay in New York. The story line was very interesting and I enjoyed the mystery of who was behind the danger and threats to Lizzie's life. I also greatly appreciated the author's note to the reader at the end of the book. Make sure you read that too. Enjoy! ( )
