Gigi Lynd, forensic analyst, had an agenda that didn't include facing off with cop-turned-ranger Matt Blackthorn. But she'd do anything to help investigate a deadly attack in the Colorado back country and uncover a conspiracy--even stoop to partnerning up with a hardened loner who saw her inexperience as a liability destined to get her killed.

Matt couldn't afford a partner like sexy, bullheaded Gigi. He'd lost too many men in the line of duty to pretend that he could keep her safe. If he was going to catch a killer, he needed to stay focused on the job at hand. Determined, his greatest distraction came from a woman he had no choice but to protect even if she didn't want it.

Good story line, strong characters, very good read. ( )
