My general practice is to only review books which I have read cover to cover but I read 85% of this book and skipped over the parts that weren't helpful for my research. This is an edited volume where various authors explore the history of Pietism, what influenced its development (one chapter makes the case that medieval alchemy underlies the concept of 'new birth' in the Pietists) and its influence on later movements. There is some helpful stuff compiled here about early Swedish Mission friends (from a Evangelical Free perspective) and Pietist Education from a Evangelical Covenant perspective. Also lots on Wesleyanism and a section on Schleiemacher. As some of my Pietist resources are a little dated an up to date grappling is helpful. ( ) sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
