"Head, Shoulders, Knees and toes" is a great book for children. This is a book with great pictures of animals that has one word on a page with the animal pointing to that part of the body. For instance the frog at the biginning is pointing to his head. The book goes through all four parts.

I love this book! I have read this in many classes. The children would point to the correct body part as they were sitting. After I finished reading the book we would stand and do the motions as we sang the song. They love it!!

For an extension idea have the children point to the correct body part while you are reading. When the book is done have them stand and do the motions while singing the song. For something a little fun try and see how fast you can do the motions and sing. They will love this.
