Illustrated one-page summaries of the challenges faced by various species in infancy. I particularly like Komodo Dragon and Wood Duck for my science-enthused second graders. ( ) I thought this book was so cute. The main message is to give children information about how and where different animals are born and grow up. I like how the text is incorporated into the pictures. If the information is about a baby whale, then the rectangle that the text is on also looks like it is in the water. On another page, the opossums are hanging onto the text in the box. This makes the page fun to look at, and also keeps the children interested. The other thing I like about this book is the pictures. They are very detailed cartoon drawings, and they not only show the animal they are describing, but also their habitat that they live in. For example, the Komodo dragons are shown surrounded by trees, whereas the turtles are shown on the beach. This gives the reader a feeling that they are actually in the setting with the animal, which makes the book much more enjoyable to read. Lastly, I like how at the end the author compares all the baby animals lives to a baby humans life, and states that "we humans really have it easy". A book about different types of animals and how tough the beginning of their lives are. This book explains that many baby animals do not make it to adult hood and it explains why. It tell us how hard it really is to be an animal. Us, humans have it very easy as babies compared to animals. This would be a good book to read to children about different animals and how they are born. It's good to explain to them how their mom and dad's have to take care of them when they are little. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
