While the drawings are exquisite the subject matter is rather sexist.

I tried to finish this book, but I couldn't. It made me sick. The beautiful cover and book description/blurb did not prepare me for what was inside. The cover makes the reader think this has some elements of historical romance. I was thinking something along the lines of The Last of the Mohicans. I was not prepared for the graphic rape scenes, senseless nudity, senseless violence towards women, incest, graphic depictions of molestation of a female minor, and complete objectification of women found in this graphic novel. This is 2012, how does a book like this get published? I guess some people still don't believe in women's rights. I cannot recommend it to anyone. ( )
