Bright the Harvest Moon, half-jokingly sub-titled Basho Wus Here, is a collection of haiku inspired by, or that are "imitations" of, poems written by the Japanese masters - Basho, Buson, Issa, Shiki, as well as plenty of others. There is plenty of precedent for this sort of thing and Basho was well-known as someone who would often use words written by others, from all sorts of sources, to create poems to which he put his name - although at times sailed very close to what, even then, was a plagiarism wind. John O'Connor is scrupulous about linking his creations to the original authors, using the form "after (so-and-so)" to indicate from where his inspiration derived. He describes the resulting poems as "imitations, not translations". Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |
