Ένα εξαιρετικά επικίνδυνο βιβλίο. Η προσέγγιση των ιδεών που πραγματεύεται απαιτεί από τον αναγνώστη μεγάλη προσοχή και κριτική σκέψη. Κατά τη γνώμη μου δεν θα πρέπει να είναι ένα από τα πρώτα βιβλία πολιτικής φιλοσοφίας που αποφασίζει να διαβάσει κάποιος. ( )

James Burnham in questo libro, ispirandosi alla grande tradizione di Machiavelli, ci offre uno studio attento delle leggi che governano le atività politiche. Attraverso una analitica esposizione della filosofia di quei pensatori che piu' profondamente hanno inciso sullo sviluppo dei problemi politico-sociali, da Dante a Machiavelli, da Michels a Sorel, da Mosca a Pareto.
