Helen Osterman, The Elusive Relation, brings back her delightful senior sleuth, Emma Winberry, this time solving a mystery across the pond with inspiration from her ever present Guardian Angel. What's not to love? Julie Hyzy ( ) In Osterman’s mystery novel, sixty something Emma Winberry can’t ignore a plea for help when her uncanny instincts coupled with dreams tell her something is terribly wrong with her niece Lindsey Bellingham. When two women disappear without a trace, Emma races to uncover the buried truth about a family treasure and a cursed past that leaves her facing a legacy of her own. An intense installment to An Emma Winberry Mystery series. . The Elusive Relation is the third Emma Winberry cozy mystery written by Helen Macie Osterman. Osterman does not solve crimes in her books but other matters which reminds me of Dorothy Gilman's Mrs. Pollifax series. I like her cleaned up but hip writing style. She may discuss sex and violence but does not use common language to describe it. Instead, she alludes to it in the way we were used to reading books just a few decades ago. Still, Emma Winberry is a hip lady who lives with her boyfriend just a few blocks from my own home. In The Elusive Relation Emma and boyfriend Nate Sandler travel to England to meet Emma's recently discovered niece, Lindsey Bellingham. Lindsey has a few problems that she is dealing with and Emma comes to her aid with the help of her Guardian Angel. This is a lovely, relaxing read. If you haven't read Osterman yet, give her a try. She is a fairly new author but writes like a pro. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
