Scarlet (edição 2013)

The plot was a bit slow-going for me. I remember noticing I was at 76% and being surprised I was that far—maybe it’s just me, but I felt like nothing major had happened at that point yet, whereas normally at least one major plot point happens before getting 3/4 of the way through. Overall a good book and I loved the new characters, but I think maybe it just suffered from middle-book syndrome. Very excited to start the next book, though! ( )

This isn't as good as Cinder, because after I finished I wanted to keep reading immediately because it felt like I hadn't really read a full story. Also, yes the scene of violence was terrible, but short. ( )

I am perfectly happy to give up a series after the first book if it isn't interesting...well, Cinder was enough for me to pick up Scarlet. I told myself it probably won't be great because it is rare that a series gets better. Scarlet was good enough for me to read the next one...really about a 3.5 star book ( )
