The poems were about different things children see or experience (kites, balloons, nests in trees) and wonder about. It was a bit of a guessing game each time you started a poem as to whether or not it should be started at the top of the page, or the bottom. "A Meal of the Stars" is a collection of poems where some read top to bottom and some read bottom to top, but all are exceptionally creative. The animated language and illustrations make the book something readers will adore. Half the fun is the experience of such remarkable writing and the other half is the fun or figuring out where to start- the top or the bottom. Summary: This is a unique book of poems. The topics ranged from stars to ladybugs to waterfalls. Each poem is written in a unique way on the page that makes your eyes dance across the page. Some are written from the bottom up, and others from the top down. Personal Reaction: Although this book was fun to look at, I could see it becoming confusing for young readers. There is no real sense of grammatical rules throughout the books. Capitalization and punctuation marks are not used at all. Extension Ideas: 1. Write a poem that could be read from the bottom up. 2. Illustrate a picture to go with the poem you just wrote. 3. As a class, compile all the poems into one book to be read at the end of the year. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
A treasury of poems invites youngsters to read entries that are positioned in untraditional directions and celebrates the ways in which the world can sway, crash, rise, and fall and still remain magical. Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |
