Adira ao LibraryThing para descobrir se irá gostar deste livro. Ainda não há conversas na Discussão sobre este livro. Readers should definitely read the first book in the series first. Students have found it confusing. ( ) I assume the first book is better. After all, in that one we presumably meet the kids and watch them form their alliance against a mean teacher. And a reader who likes adventure, and good vs evil, and this weird distorted art style will probably enjoy this second book, too. However, I found the book to be mean-spirited, stupid, and ugly. Too bad, because Paul Fleischman and Candlewick Press are both usually simpatico w/ me. The Dunderheads are a group of children of various ethnicities who are friends, and whose nicknames are based on their interests and skills. A celebrity comes to town to film, and the Dunderheads are acting as extras on set (unfortunately with their hated teacher whom they thought they could avoid for the summer), when their friend Spider is accused on stealing jewelry: Einstein and the others need to work together using their talents to clear Spider’s name. This is a very funny book with entertaining illustrations that have a few little pop cultural and storyline secrets to reveal if one looks closely enough. Elements of the story can be a bit dark and disturbing, although younger children might not pick this up. Recommended age range: 7-10 Subjects/themes/curriculum connections: • Multiple intelligences • Working together • Friendship • International Baccalaureate learner profile characteristics: thinkers, communicators sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
