Freddy the Detective (1932)

An entertaining children's story about a detective pig in a farm yard with his fellow animal sidekicks. Read out loud to my 10 yr. old son who received the book from his grandparents. I especially liked the parts when people were involved with the animals as well. ( )

When I was a child, this was my personal favorite of all the many "Freddy the Pig" books as I already loved mysteries and Freddy really does do some serious detecting in this one, at least, serious in that he makes real deductions from evidencem though as usual wi ( )

I love this book. The plot is simply enough to engage a young child, but the writing is clever enough to keep an adult laughing out loud. Subtle humor from a smarter period. ( )
