While the title of this book is "Physics" that is misleading in that Aristotle's view encapsulates all of nature. In viewing nature Aristotle then focuses on movement and how it comes to be and continues throughout all of nature. This exploration leads to such concepts as that of the prime or first mover and the relation of movement to time. While I found the chapters in this book somewhat repetitive and Aristotle's prose sometimes so dense as to be cloudy in the extreme, there are great insights that emerge as you read and ponder his notions. As always the immense power of Aristotle's mind continually lurks in the background making this an exhilarating if daunting read. ( ) sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
Nearly all the works Aristotle (384-322 BCE) prepared for publication are lost; the priceless ones extant are lecture-materials, notes, and memoranda (some are spurious). They can be categorized as practical; logical; physical; metaphysical; on art; other; fragments. Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |
