The Accidental Husband

I thought this book was excellent. It was well written and had good characters and a good plot. At times it was a little predictable but overall it was good. ( )

Don't get me wrong, I can see the potential for this storyline, two women who share the same husband, find out and their worlds consequently crash down around them. Green's plot, however, seems stunted to me, you don't seem to be able to relate to the feelings of the characters and Green seems to push for the (although terrible) stereotypical problems of teenage worlds - her added twist of anorexia feels more like an educative lesson than heart-wrenching and mother-daughter angst, of which this book is full of, tends to get a little tiring.
It might already seem it, but I was genuinely disappointed in this novel, the story was limp and I really had to push myself to even finish it altogether. Jane Green as an author however has always been brilliant, her books are clever, interesting and generally light easy reads with a general feel-good feeling. Her books such as; Mr Maybe and Spellbound are two fantastic stories which Green has concocted. If you want my opinion, if reading Green - stick to her older works of fiction!

A nice easy read ( )

I did enjoy this book for the most part, although it did drag in parts. I liked the story line but was pretty much able to predict where it was leading just from reading the book's back cover. ( )

I love reading Jane Green. I think I have read every book she has ever written. This one did not disappoint. I kind of knew what was coming but still it was a nice surprise what happened and how everything unfolded. This is a nice beach read. Pretty fast read too. You get invested in the characters. I would have liked to have known a little more of how Mark got away with everything but this storyline was more about the relationships of the women instead of Mark. I recommend this book. ( )
