Written with a clever set of twists, engaging dialogue and steamy sex scenes, this is a short novella that is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Who can’t spend an hour with the author’s clear writing style, descriptive manner and intermingling of regency settings with the modern and current? It is well worth the reading time, and a story that is complete of itself- but creates characters that you want to see more of.

I found Diane Albert's Escape to Me a very enjoyable short read. In fact, I was a disappointed that it wasn't longer. I want to know more. But, I'm getting ahead of myself.

Ms. Alberts does a great job in creating wonderful characters that you can connect to and who have such depth. Neither character is shallow. I loved this part. This story easily could have been this short and not nearly as well written.

Though mostly set in modern times, Ms. Alberts is very creative in her plot and gives such descriptive words that I could imagine myself there.

To sum it up. I want more of the story. In that part, I am disappointed in the book, but then again it might just be perfect the way it is.

I do want to warn you that this book has one explicit scene with the first part of the book leading up to it. But I love how the author did not make sex the focus of the book. The characters were the focus. You connect with them long before the scene arrives.

A great read. I'll be looking at more of her work.
