Oudejaarsavond. Twee luxe appartementsblokken even buiten Rome. Even as Jij bent mijn schat which I read last year, is this book a little too much of everything. The different story lines are hilarious but also all end over the top. When starting I had no idea what this book was about. The only clear thing from the title is that the story is about new years eve. New years eve 1999. And all the story parts, told from a large number of perspectives, play on a living park in the suburbs of Rome. All the story lines cross and get togethers, without a flaw. And the story is quite ironic. And more I won't say, as it will spoil the reading experience. I'm still curious about this author. Ik en jij is already on my shelves. And I think this is a more quiet read. If it's again this hilarious and over the top, I might be done with it. I can endure only so much on specific moments... http://boekenwijs.blogspot.com/2011/11/het-laatste-oudejaar-van-de-mensheid.html Está contido em
