I didn't enjoy this book at all. The main thing I didn't like was that the plot seemed very meaningless to me. Mr. Grigg's enjoyed his work, got sick, and then ended up back at work. There was no significant problem or even a significant solution. I feel this book basically just outlined how much he loved his job, not much more than that. I thought it was very misleading as it seemed something may occur, but nothing ever ended up really happening. Although I didn't enjoy the book, I thought the illustrations were interesting and detailed. Each page was filled with an illustrations that engaged me into the text of the page. I would say the big message of this book is to enjoy your work. ( )

This book contained minimal plot, but it was a simple story with a nice look into a happy life. In fact, this was one of those sort of comfortable stories that you could read while sitting on a soft chair in a nice, warm, softly lit room. It was a very nice story. The worst problem faced was a sick day for someone who really enjoys his job. This, come to think of it, is very similar to A Sick Day for Amos Magee, the 2011 Caldecott winner. A nice, simple book. Mr. Griggs is an old man that works at the post office and he loves his job. He hates missing work, but one day he becomes real sick. He can't stop thinking about his jobs. Then he feels better and he goes back to work. Now Mr. Griggs is now happy again. ( )

Mr. Griggs' works at a post office for a very long time and loves his job. He thinks about things pertaining to his job all the time. Even when he isn't working. One day Mr. Griggs gets sick and had to miss one day of work; which he had never done before. But, the next day he felt better an was so happy and thankful for his job. ( )

Mr. Griggs loves running the local post office. It is all he thinks about. Children will love the goofy pictures and adults will find his devotion to the mail sweet. ( )
