ANyone with Norwegian roots might just wake the slumbering troll from his sleep when reading these ancient tales. Not only a fitting title, a fitting book for anyone looking for the chance to relive their childhood. It seems that so many children books have fluffy ideas, but Larsen is much different. The vast Norwegian landscape is the perfect setting, rugged mountains with snow caps; trees and running springs, just mystical enough to house some of the most frightful creatures. This collection of troll tales from Norway emerged from the author's desire to make the stories from her own childhood accessible to an audience of children in the United States. She has more than accomplished that goal with this volume! Each engaging story is accompanied by informative text about the history or background of that particular tale. The entire collection is given a thorough treatment on the nature and history of trolls in Norway. Not to be ignored or passed over are the beautiful illustrations done in traditional Norwegian woodcut form. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
