First, the illustrations' were so carefully constructed to really bring to life the characters and the humor of the book through the bright colors and detailed pictures. It displays a four piece illustration of Tacky's dance, allowing readers to join in on the fun at home! The language is captivating and fun, having the text written in the way the characters would actually say it. For example, Twinkleweb's, a drama queen guest dancer, says "I vant to perform for you a denz peez from Swan Frozen-Body-Of-Water." When reading this aloud and pronouncing it, the reader also sounds like Tacky would, a drama queen. The vocabulary is fun to read, but not too confusing! The characters are all well-developed, with some of their names aiding to their personality, such as Ms. Perfect, who see everything as perfect! The story shows the weeks of planning between the friends for Tacky's "birdday" and how Tacky turned the most unfortunate of events into the party of a lifetime. The book pushes readers to make the best out of a bad situation. Sometimes not everything goes as planned, and that is okay, as long as you keep a good attitude!
