Ignore all that OMG I HATE THE EX WIFE stuff b/c she's totally not important. Mercy and Adam are strong and they know it. I wish Ben featured more in these books. He is interesting. It was nice to see Coyote and meet more of his offspring. The conflict seemed forced and hurried. Also, bad guy showing up at Mercy's side, totally expected. Edit: Thinking about this book last night, I fear its slowly falling into the Anita Blake Women Hater's Club type abyss. Meaning that in many of the Anita Blake books women are either too weak to be noticed, too threatening (either sexually or violently) to be allowed to survive, or fall under the purview of "red shirt" security guards and thus are non threatening (they are the help, donchaknow). There are ALL kinds of theories out there on the internet as to why LK writes female characters in this way, none of which have any actual evidence to prove them. That being said women in the AB books mainly fall into one of these three categories, except Blake herself of course. A similar pattern emerges in the Mercy Thompson books. None of the women in Bran's pack like Mercy. Most of them want to kill her. Even after 10ish years away they hate her. None of the women in Adam's pack like Mercy. Most of them want to kill her. At least, the women we've met. Elizaveta the witch doesn't like her. The vampires hate her, especially Marsilia. The women in this most recent book, except for Honey and Jessie, are all so easily dismissed as catty or jealous or petty. Or, and I find this hilarious and an incredibly weak argument, threatened by a coyote. I guess for a really good woman/woman dynamic in Briggs's world, Anna and Mercy will need to meet and work together. Adam's ex-wife comes to visit, saying she's being stalked and he has to protect her. Mercy isn't please that half the pack leap to her defense. However the stalker unsurprisingly turns out to be much more dangerous than anyone expected. Trigger warning for the loss of pets, probably should have been on the cover, but isn't. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica

" #1 New York Times bestselling author Patricia Briggs's Mercy Thompson series has been hailed as "one of the best" (Fiction Vixen). Now, Mercy must deal with an unwanted guest-one that brings a threat unlike anything she's ever known. An unexpected phone call heralds a new challenge for Mercy. Her mate Adam's ex-wife is in trouble, on the run from a stalker. Adam isn't the kind of man to turn away a person in need-and Mercy knows it. But with Christy holed up in Adam's house, Mercy can't shake the feeling that something about the situation isn't right. Soon, her suspicions are confirmed when she learns that Christy has the farthest thing from good intentions. She wants Adam back and she's willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen, including turning Adam's pack against Mercy. Mercy isn't about to step down without a fight, but there's a more dangerous threat circling. Christy's stalker is more than a bad man-in fact, he may not be human at all. As the bodies start piling up, Mercy must put her personal troubles aside to face a creature with the power to tear her whole world apart. "-- Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |

The most infuriating book in the series. The whole Christy thing made me give up reading the book for several weeks. I was able to finish it eventually. Other plot points added to the series. ( )
